Stichkingdom.com (crediting other sources) has reported that D23 is, in fact, "the Official Community for Disney Fans" based on an insert included in the Platinum Edition DVD of Pinocchio. They've also shown pics of the Disney Twenty Three magazine and have several other articles.

Iger also mentioned it... without mentioning it. He called it the "Disney affinity club."

The execs were receiving complaints that the other disney fan clubs were targeted to the average disney fan and not the "true" fan. You know, I don't think that's been revealed yet.

I think the best theory revolves around the 1923 founding of the Walt Disney Company... but that's just a guess.

Only a few more days to the official announcement.

Personally, I hate teasers like this; I'm always suckered into them, but I normally end up disappointed.

This is what I found....Hi all,

I picked up a copy of the Disney twenty three premiere magazine today at a Barnes & Noble- It’s a nice glossy roughly 12″x12″ magazine with membership information inside- Loads of great pictures and articles- I grabbed a copy immediately for 15.95-It comes sealed in plastic, but I flipped thru the display- It must have slipped out early in error- but there is an expo in Anaheim on 9/10-9/13/09.

I'm at work now & just cracked open my issue & here's membership info- yet, I don't see how much it will be-

-It's a quarterly publication
-A membership card, personalized charter member certificate with characters drawn by David Pacheco
-A surprise collectible gift for D23 members from the new Walt Disney Archives collection
-Exclusive special events and merchandise opportunities
-Discounted admission to the D23 Expo on 9/10-9/13/09 in Anaheim, CA

It also says join & learn more at Disney.com/D23- which hasn't been updated yet

I can't write too much now, but it contains many current articles - I can't post pictures, but the cover is the great shot of Walt looking thru the movie camera & the back cover has Walts Quote "It seems to me that we have a lot of story yet to tell."
