Re: Toy Story Mania... No More FP?

We, like most people here, think FP is the best thing since sliced bread (boy am I old). But if it wasn't tooooo busy, I'd like to go thru the regular line once. I think there is more to see.

Re: Toy Story Mania... No More FP?

I don't see that happening. We have used that FP line to our advantage many times. It works and people are using the heck out of it.

Re: Toy Story Mania... No More FP?

Clearly that other website is not correct. Those FPes are gone by 1pm in the day time and the rides dones an hour plus wait EVEN in the off season of February. I hate when people start fasle rumors with the intention of getting the shock effect.

Re: Toy Story Mania... No More FP?

The TSM in CA doesnt have a FP option and the line is usually about 30 mins. Clearly there are alot less people in CA adventure on a regular day than in DHS. I wish there was one. All the talk of the long lines have got me thinking ahead, though.

We go in Sept. and when we are going to that park, the first stop I will make is to the TSM FP.

We don't have a FP for Peter Pan either. That line is always at least 45 min to an hour.

Re: Toy Story Mania... No More FP?

What is with the really long line at Peter Pans Flight. I mean, I really love that ride but I can't see why the line is ALWAYS so long. We never get to ride it because the line is so long and nobody wants to stick around long enough to come back for a FP ride (thats the fun of taking other people besides your family). But seriously, why such a long wait. It is a very short ride. I really want to go on it when we go in May.

Re: Toy Story Mania... No More FP?

That's what i'm talking about mousemom... in my opinion I don't think Disney needs Fast Passes on rides that are short and keep boarding. Buzz Lightyear, and PeterPan being two of them.

Maybe you are thinking Stitch's Great Escape? Cuz we use the FP at the buzz ride every time we go!

Hmm, maybe. Whenever we go on Buzz, we walk right on. No need for FP.

Then those rides would never been ridden by me. Peter pan can have OVER a 60minute wait any time of year. Buzz is a little quicker, but still...sorry I wouldn't wait for it.

It'll never happen.

And anyway, the queue area for stand-by is terrific, so I don't mind going through.

It's because they offer the FP. They have to stop the SB line to allow the FP people to get on. When the FP machines are stuck or not on for a day, the line moves much faster because there is no stopping of the SB line.

Dana, you nailed it.

In the past 2 days, I've been to ~10-ish WDW related sites, listened to a few podcasts, and I haven't read/heard even one word about this.

Like Leslieh asked early in the thread, I'd sure like to see where this rumor came from... so I can avoid that site.

Well, keep in mind that those are two attractions without height requirements. If they took FP out of every attraction that had continuous loading, that would pretty much leave the rollercoasters and "big thrill" attractions. While you probably don't want to waste your FP on Peter Pan's Flight or a "low thrill" attraction, there are many families who have small children and take advantage only of those FPs. Even if there was no FP for Peter Pan's Flight, there would still be a long wait in the stand-by line (and no way around it) due to the popularity of the attraction and moderate to slow loading speed.

And, the past few times I have been to WDW, I have yet to see Buzz Lightyear have over a 30 minute wait. While the standy-by line used to be outrageous a few years ago, it has recently become more tolerable.

If you want to ride Buzz Lightyear quickly, without using a FP, your best bet is to go within the first half hour of park opening. Everyone is flocking to Space Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear is overlooked, leaving it with little to no wait. We like to ride Space Mountain first thing, then walk onto Buzz.
