Re: Remodeling of Disney Stores

I was reading online yesterday that Disney is closing its world of disney store in NYC (5th Ave & 55th) by the end of this year. The article claims that the lease price is too high so Disney is not renewing its lease and plans to move somewhere else in the city.... This now make sense cause if they close this store then them having one in Times Square makes total sense.
I just told DH that I want to go there before they close. Just have to wait to save of some money.... :O)

Re: Remodeling of Disney Stores

Oh man, I just visited our new Disney store after work today...it is small and rather thrown together, but it's still nice to see a peice of Disney locally. And yeah, kids stuff galore! What the heck.

But I did find a Jessie hat for my costume, and it was half off! Yeehaw!! =D

Re: Remodeling of Disney Stores

WOW, i'm lost now, this line i find funny “The world does not need another place to sell Disney merchandise — this only works if it’s an experience,”

If you're gonna redo the stores at least find out what the ppl want and give em something nice to look at, this idea don't sound so wonderful to me, I'll take the originals back please.

I used to spend 300.00 a year easy at the Original stores, Beautiful carpet, nice animated figures up high around store, always some new globes and ceramics, just a great store that i loved to go into. Why did i go there? because they had "Disney merchandise" that was worth buying.

I'm not the smartest guy but everytime i went there there was a line and it was worth waiting in and that tells me other ppl liked it too. (location) Fashion Valley mall, San Diego Ca.

Here's a pic of an Original store

Couldnt find any inside pics but i'm sure most of you remember those stores.

Our's still looks like that. Rarely do we go in it though. Not very Disney anymore.

I wonder if it really that hard for them to understand Disney is what we want and the more its themed in a Disney manner and more quality item's, the more we will want to go there.

After the Disney stores closed in my area( i thought they all closed) i rean into one in a mall in Orange County Ca. it was just the worst thing i'd ever seen, not Disney themed at all and all merchandise was geared to little kids. The store looked like a Disney outlet of items nobody wanted or that they ordered too much of. I was shocked.
