New DVC Resort Rumor
What If a New DVC Resort was built here??????
You have got to love this...... _____________________________________________ As reported on SCREAMSCAPE New DVC Resort - (9/12/03) Screamscape has received a rumor claiming that the next DVC resort, after the Saratoga Springs, may be built at the Contemporary. From the sounds of things, Disney will rehab the rooms in the South Wing and then demolish the North Wing to make way for a new five story DVC Resort. Anyone else heard this? _____________________________________________ It would be nice.

I would think any new DVC opportunities would be GREAT! The fact that the location would be on the monorail also seems like a real seller. I have never stayed in the Contemporary but it is appealing. I wonder how those who love the Contemporary would feel....

Interesting rumor but after some talk with other contacts I don't believe the rumor to be true. The Contemporary is a classic at Disney, books full on a regular basis, and even though it looks a little rough the cost of tearing some of it down and building something else would be high. Disney is seen to continue building resorts, like Pop Century, as they have plenty of land yet to use. The market right now also, with less travelers and increased fuel costs, can not justify building anything else until there is an up turn. Pop Century has been on the table for a while, no others have been released as of yet, though you know there are some in planning. Will be interesting to see what they do next, that is for sure.;)
