I haven't heard anything like that and I think your friend may just be mistaken. I can't see that ride going anywhere anytime soon. It's not my favorite ride, but my DD adores it as do many, many WDW fans.

I find it hard to believe that Small World would be retired or replaced. I sure hope this is just one of those rumors .. sorta like the Tree house rumor.

I find this hard to believe. IASW always has a long line, even in the off season.

Yup. I ride it because it's tradition and my DD loves it. I honestly don't care for it, but am out numbered by those who love it. It always tends to remind me of the movie "The Dolls" and it gives me the creeps...they look dangerous, but alas I suffer for my DD.:laugh

I can't see Disney doing away with this ride either. I heard that a few years ago they were going to replace POC and that the public let it be known they were not in favor of this and Disney changed its mind. I think that there are a few very nostalgic rides that will be around for a long time.

Thanks guys. I will have to pass this info onto my friend. That would be a shame if they did close it. It's not one of my favorite rides but it is nice to jump on when your really tired and need a good rest.

I always find new things when I go on IASM also.

Dana, I have to agree with you. It is not my favorite but I still would not miss it. It is just plain and simple tradition and like LuvWDW said it is a welcome relief from the heat and a chance to sit for a few minutes!! There are some things at DW that should NEVER change!;)

I highly doubt that WDW would take out It's a Small World. It is a classic ride and an anthem for the Magic Kingdom. There is a rumor that says that there will be a major rehab that could add a few new sences to the ride and replace the dolls with new improved dolls. That is what I've heard, but I don't see WDW taking out It's a Small World anytime soon

I hope not!!

Dana how can you not like IASW??? This is one of the few rides that I remember riding from my trip in the 70's!! Then I returned in 2003... and it was JUST LIKE I remember it!!

I understand though... it sure was not the technical wonder I remember it being when I was a child!
