I think it's called Soarin' over California. It will be located between HISTA and the Land. The entrance will be where Food Rocks was in the Land. Hope this helps. Joe

It is supposed to open sometime in the spring of 2005. It is rumored that in 2007, the ride will be changed to a new soarin' journey, possibly over Florida.

I am pretty sure the sign in the Land says 2006.... not totally sure.

It just doens't seem right to do Soarin' over California in Florida. They should do a Soarin' over Florida.

So does that mean that it's replacing Food Rocks? I knew Soarin was coming to Epcot, but I thought it was going to be new, not replacing something. My son lovee Food Rocks.

I am not sure. Where is Food Rocks??? Was that in the Wonders of Life or is that in The Land?? I thought it was an addition to The Land.

Sadly, Food Rocks closed several months ago to make way for Soarin' over California. From what I've heard, Soarin' is ahead of schedule, so if all goes well, look for an opening in early 2005.

From what I understand, it will definitely be Soaring Over CALIFORNIA. It is actually a fantastic ride and a very neat experience. (you must go on it barefoot - take your shoes off before the seats move up).

Here in CA, it is one of the few reasons to venture into the "other park."

Its a great ride! My four year old loved it as much as the adults. Nothing scarry just really cool. You really feel like you're hang gliding (I assume having never REALLy did any hang gliding myself...). But, I don't remember having to take off my shoes? Maybe because we were all wearing sneakers??? Was it just a sandal thing?? Don't worry about sitting in the "back" either -- once the ride starts there isn't a "back row" any more -- everyone soars right up front. It really is a neat ride. Can't wait for it to be in FL. My three-year old says he won't do that CA flight again!!

I have to agree, this ride is FABULOUS!! It was the only ride we waited significantly for, and it was worth every second. I particularly love the ending...but I won't give it away! ;)

My DH (GOSH, how I LOVE saying that!

) put in his 2 cents earlier when we saw the preview for "Around The World in 80 Days": he thinks that a more appropriate theme for the Epcot version of Soarin' would be "Soarin' Over The World" or something like that. A more *global* perspective, to fit with the overall theme of Epcot.
