Icon5 Cruise changes for 2005?

Hello! Has anyone heard that the Disney 7-night cruises may sail from CA during the summer of 2005? I tried checking the sailing dates for next year and did see that the summer is open. I didn't know if they were still deciding or not. We are going on our first cruise this August and thought about booking one for next year if we all had a good time. Unfortunately, we were looking at the 7-day cruises but do not want to leave from CA.

I have heard about it on all the different boards. Mousesavers.com just wrote a report on the "rumor" of it and expects we should hear something on 5/5.

Re: Cruise changes for 2005?

I didn't report this before, but now that I'm seeing it pop up all over the place, I thought I'd add a bit to the flame--
During my cruise last year (I was on the first sailing of the Magic after drydock), we were seated for lunch near a table where some official looking people were having an official sounding discussion in which the someone stated the "Magic" (the name of Disney's flagship, noted as such in the discussion) would be starting "California routes". I didn't want to eavesdrop any further, but I couldn't help but notice that they appeared to be members of the crew. Dgf and I briefly pondered how cool it would be to sail again on the Magic when we visit D'land for it's 50th Anniversary. Now this was all "ears"-say, but they seemed to know what they were talking about.

It was reported on JHM that DCL will be here in 2005 for a brief summer stay. It is expected to be announced next week at the big event. There is even talk of a permanent line coming if all goes well.

Re: Cruise changes for 2005?

That is good news for all Disney fans closer to CA than FL. If it does become a permanent thing, I hope that they have a new ship ready so that the 7-day cruises continue from FL as well. I have heard that they already have the plans ready for a new ship but are waiting for the value of the $ to increase before construction begins.
