Water Park at Castaway Cay

Hi everyone!

I'm a student at the College of Charleston. I was wondering if you could help me with some opinions.

For a class project, we're proposing the addition of a mini-water park on Castaway Cay. It would be for Disney cruisers only (of course). and would be small enough so that it would not impede on the secluded feeling you have while on the beaches.

Would you be interested in such a thing?

and

How much would you be willing to pay for admission?

The details of the park have not been discussed as this is just a proposal to see if the company should even consider it.

Re: Water Park at Castaway Cay

To be honest, with the beautiful beaches, snorkeling, massages, biking, family games, and BBQ, I don't see that there would be time to visit a water park. We didn't even have time to do all we wanted to do as it was. JMHO.

Me personally, no. My kids, yes, most likely. It is such a relaxing place as it is now, the last thing I want to do is wait in line for a waterslide for 30 minutes. I can do that at WDW, I don't really want to do that on Castaway Cay.

I wouldn't be willing to pay anything, even if I did want it on the island. I would expect it to be a part of the experience.

We will not be there until next December 24-31 2005, but of course not. I argree with the rest. What I want is a hammock, the blue water and the serenity it offers. WDW has great water parks, leave them there!

Re: Water Park at Castaway Cay

While I haven't yet taken my Disney cruise, I can definitely say that I would not be interested in a waterpark on Castaway Cay. Part of the appeal of a cruise is relaxation and "getting away from it all."

Looking forward to...Disneyland--June 2005, DCL--December 2005, WDW--May 2006...can't believe I have to wait so long!

Re: Water Park at Castaway Cay

I have yet to go on the cruise either but I ditto everyone else. I want sandcastles, blue water, a big beach chair and umbrella and sand between my toes at Castaway Cay. I'll suffer through standing around at waterparks at WDW or back home.
I will say IF there were such a thing on Castaway Cay, I would hope it would be hidden as to not obstruct the gorgeous scenery and I agree it should be free/included in the cruise price.

Re: Water Park at Castaway Cay

I'll be going on my 1st cruise this summer so I have never been, but I agree with the others. From what I've read, it's a fun and relaxing place...a water park would add too much and even if there was one...it shouldn't be extra. The only thing I think would be neat is one of those giant inflatable slides with holes on one side to climb up and one of those huge trampoline things that float so kids can jump really high and then jump into the water..nut a waterpark with slides, river rapids, etc..no..you can get that a WDW.
