What time to arrive for cruise?

We're going to be taking Quicksilver from WDW to Port for our cruise. What would be a good time to arrive at Port? I've heard that they normally start boarding around 12:30 (official boarding is 1:00).

Thanks!

Bruce

Re: What time to arrive for cruise?

try to get there around noon- its fun to check out the festivities in the main building before you board. There is a miniship and Captain Mickey and it is cool to look around! It also saves the big rush of others when the busses pull in from the park-

Re: What time to arrive for cruise?

Don't ask me! If I arrive late, say around one, they don't open the doors for an hour or more. If I arrive early, say at 11:30, they have already opened the doors, and the terminal looks like a ghost town.

If you are going on a 7 night cruise, then it isn't a big deal if you are early or not. A short cruise, you want to be on the boat as soon as possible to get your Palo and Spa reservations, etc.

We like to get there early to beat the hassle of the lines.
Most of the ships we`ve been on they have lunch ready.

YES, get there EARLY!!!!! You have to get carry-ons searched and get papers filled out and they usually have Mickey and Donald walking around the Port! Make sure you check out all the little secrets of the boat while at sea.

Make 100% sure the weather & seas are will allow you to dock at the scheduled Ports-of-Call....
Disney will not reimburse you a dime, if they choose not to port!
We got back two weeks ago from our Disney cruise and only made two of four ports of call. Disney reimbursed everyone with free alcoholic drinks for one hour. I guest thats part of the Disney "magic"!

We just got back from the 7-night cruise and made only 2 of 4 Ports-of-Call.

Gracious Disney reimbursed everyone with one hour of alcoholic drinks. That's part of their "Disney Magic"----

Re: What time to arrive for cruise?

I would get there by 1 pm. If you like shrimp, the buffet that is available till 3 pm has the best shrimp. We always heard of cruises having seafood buffets all day during the cruise however, this one is the only one Disney had. Another tip: We saw kids arrive with their swim suits on and they were able to use the pools immediately. We did not think of that and it took a while for our bags to get to our room.
