Which guide book??

I want to get at least one guide book for the cruise we are taking in December!! Tell me which books are best for describing both things on the cruise and the excursions ashore!?

Thanks!

The Passporter for Disney Cruise lines is awesome. It has all the info you would need.

Re: Which guide book??

As far as I've been able to find, the only 2 books that deal exclusively with DCL are the Passporter and the Birnbaum book. The ONLY thing (IMO) that the Birnbaum book has over the Passporter is the color photography. For info and planning, the Passporter is the clear choice.

They are still saying that the new edition should be available in March, but it also sounds like they are still putting it together.

Re: Which guide book??

I use the Passporter all the time for the cruise. I don't think a guide book is as necessary for the cruise as it is for WDW, but it is nice to have.

I'll third the passporter, even though you've already made up your mind. I'm a big fan of it and think all disney crazies like me would love it!

Re: Which guide book??

I would say Birnbaum. Also I would suggest going to AAA and asking someone about it and if they have any info. Or you could go on www.amazon.com and saerch under Disney Cruiseline. Hope this helps!!!

Haven't seen Birnbaum. The Passporter is AWESOME-- had no need to look for anything else!

Birnbaum's WDW books are fine, but I was disappointed with thier cruise book, Passporter's is the one you want!

I usually get both the Unofficial Guide and Birnbaum's book. I like the Unofficial Guide the best, it is much more objective than Birnbaum's book.

I agree. Birnbaum's does have nice colour pictures and it's probably easier to tote along, but the Unofficial Guide cannot be beaten for being objective and informative. (and it has a sense of humour, too)

The Unofficial Guide and Passporter are definitely my 2 favorites. If I had to choose just one, I'd go with the Passporter. It's simply fantastic, addicting & laid out in a really easy way!
