Blackbeard's Cay Beach & Stingray Adventure

My kids really want to do this excursion in Nassau, and my wife and I think it has possibilities. How good of a swimmer do you have to be? I understand that the water isn't deep and you get a lifejacket.

My will-be-5 year old isn't the best swimmer, and my wife just can't swim period.

Thanks!

Re: Blackbeard's Cay Beach & Stingray Adventure

Just in case somebody looks for an answer here in the future, I posted this same question on the Passporter boards and received one reply:

That is correct. The water is not that deep - although if you want to go a little deeper, you can. You do get a life jacket. It was a great time. The lunch was good and the beach was nice. They have a wonderful place for the kids to play in the water (on the other side of where the stingrays are)and we just hung out in the beach chairs. We all had such a great time and would definately do this again.
I found 3 other reports about this excursion elsewhere on the web... 2 of the reports were positive, 1 was extremely negative - but that person was a hardcore snorkeler who didn't quite understand what the excursion was.

That sounds interesting, I wish we were going to the Bahams and had an opportunity to do it.
