Book Early!!

If you want to go on a Disney Cruise, I have just one thing to say.... book early! We booked about 5 months ago for a Nov 2006 cruise. Mickey had told me to book early 'cause the cruises only go up as they draw nearer. Boy was he right. We booked for $4450 and I just check a comparable website and the same accomodations are now $5320! Wow! As always, Mickey is the man!!! Thanks, Mickey!!

That's a great reminder for everyone. I guess I think the other way--that prices should drop the closer to the date just to sell the cabins.

Since most every Disney Cruise is booked solid before it gets close, it apparently doesn't work like that... no last minute sales. Since you can cancel for a full refund at 75 days out, there is really no harm in booking way out.

Does it work like that with other cruises/non-Disney?

Same thing happened to me. We are going in March '06 with my wife's family, and we booked over a year ago. We paid about $6,000 for our two cabins (7 people). I priced it out last week, it was nearing $10,000, and just about everything was gone. It was expensive when I booked it, but I couldn't go if we were planning now.

Many cruise lines do have last minute sales, especially if you are close to the port, they can be a great deal. If the Disney cruise is not full, 30 days out the offer reduced rates to Disney employees, so any cabins that are available get booked right up. I think the average capacity of a Disney ship is around 98%. Most other cruise lines are around 60%.

Wow! That is a huge difference. I had no idea the pirce went up that much as the cruise neared. Thanks for the information, now I know to book as early as possible since it won't get cheaper.

I have about 5 families looking to book a cruise in 2008. 10 Adults & 12 Children.Can we book now? Or is it to early? Do you think we can sit together at dinner? Any help would be great. THANKS!

Right now, you are too early. There are only rates up until the end of 2006. We should see 2007 and part of 2008 here soon. I would book as soon as the rates are released.

You won't be able to sit at the same table, but you will be right in a group, at 3 or 4 tables. We had a group of 28 on our last cruise, and we had 4 tables. It was nice, since we could sit with different people each night, we were always at one table.

Not yet. I am waiting myselft to book for April 2008. The rumors have the bookings opening up anywhere from any day now to not until December. I'll post something if I hear.

which cruise is better, the eastern or western carribean? we have never been on a cruise before. Being that we are in the DVC and have the points, we figured why not.

any thoughts?

We did the eastern. It has one more day at sea which to me means one more day for lots of fun ship activity and/or relaxing. The western tempted me because of Key West as I have never been there. They are both wonderful. It really came down to the fact there was a certain week we could go.

Just take a look at the ports or toss a coin.
