Flight Home after cruise

For those of you who are thinking about cutting it close on your return flight - if you're sailing during hurricane season (which is half the year), DON'T DO IT! Even the DVC Member Cruise had its disembarkation moved to Port Everglades in Ft Lauderdale, and the soonest the folks with flights got on busses was about 7:30. IF you made your flight after 12, like Disney advises, you MIGHT make it, as long as your bus has no problems and you don't hit bad traffic, etc, etc.

Re: Flight Home after cruise

We usually make our flights for around 5 PM. We then rent a car and go shopping or hit one of the parks if we have APs. We have never had any problem, but if something happened like the ship returned to Ft. Lauderdale, we wouldn't have any problem making the flights.

You should be fine. We were just on the Disney Magic, from LA to Orlando, and I remember the staff asking if anyone had flights before 12 noon, and they made sure those folks were off first. We had a 1:30 pm flight and we got to the airport about 9:30 am, before we could even check our luggage....So if you get into port on schedule, like you should, you won't have any problems.

Before I booked this, I did research to see what time I could get off the ship and I felt comfortable about this time. I did not plan for any unforeseen circumstances though.
