Are trip reports usually this long???

On the third day, I again woke up before the alarm…weird. I never do that…and here twice in a row! We’ll…we dashed off to breakfast buffet and then to meet for our excursion. Today it was the Lucayan Beach Experience in Freeport. It was COLD…WINDY…and the water was FREEZING!!! A lot of people were complaining, I think some took taxis back to the ship soon after we got there… On the upswing, one of the guys that work there told us there was a heated pool on another side, so we went along with a family I made friends with on the bus ride there…and what a difference! It was an enclave, shielded from the wind, the water was warm, and the kids played while I fell asleep poolside… After lunch, we went shopping, but I didn’t buy much of anything. The woman at the counter of the place I did buy something said she really liked the way I have my sarong tied, and when she found out I was just there with my daughter, she asked me for my camera so that she could take photos of my daughter and I for me.. She did some inside and even took some photos of us outside…I thought that was really nice of her…

We took the bus back to the ship, and I did some more shopping at the straw market. I ended up buying a couple of half sarongs for my daughter, and then back to the ship. We were so tired that we fell asleep…in our clothes…when we got back to the room. We slept until it was time to get ready for evening… I wore a black evening gown and my daughter a black overall dress with silver butterflies.. dashing We went to see a magic/comedy show then I happened to go back to the room for something, and found yet another gift on the bed…etched glass of the ship and Happy New Years in it…I was floored. We had our formals photos taken, then we went to dinner at the Animators Palate. We were super disappointed that the color show wasn’t going to happen until the next night, but dinner was very good, and we got to keep the special New Years menu’s as souvenirs.

I took my daughter to the club, and then off again to wavebands…and Im oh so glad I went there. There was a projection of the atrium…at first I thought maybe I should go in there to celebrate, because they would have the balloons come down and everything, but as it got closer to midnight…it got more packed. I found out afterwards it was so hot and humid from the body heat…and quite a few women had champagne knocked into them and down the front of their dress…L I got way too many glasses of champagnge (complimentary!) and did the countdown, then danced in the New Year… I went around hugging everyone I knew at least by face in there…and got a few kisses on the cheek even! They did a new years celebration in the club for the kids…they got to watch as it switched to all the hot spots on the ship..and they had party favors to countdown the New Years too…so that was very cool. We slept as hard as we partied that night…

You have a really good man to give you and your daughter a wonderful trip like that! Did you bring him a souvenir?

I will totally agree to that. He is a charm! I didnt get him a souvenier, but only because I know that he is not exactly the type who likes those sort of things. He travels a lot for business, and travels very light, so he only packs the barest necessities with him...so if I did buy him something, hed swear I only got it for myself since it would stay home with me all the time anyway!

I saved EVERYTHING from the tickets to the navigators, to the reciepts I got from the excursions. Im going to put all of them together along with our photos in a book, scrapbook style, and box it with the gifts I got on the ship for him. Im also going to give him a photo of my daughter and I in our formal to put in his wallet. Small enough to take with him whereever he goes...big enough smiles for him to know we really appreciate his gift :)
