Any reason to take Disney dollars with us?
I've been reading a lot of these cruise threads and now I'm wondering if there is any reason to take Disney dollars on a cruise if there isn't any "exchange of money" as I read in one of the past threads. I have about $60 and would gladly spend them at the Disney Store if someone has to twist my arm hard enough. *ooh, ouch, okay okay* But we kept them thinking we'd be able to use them on a cruise. Anyone know one way or the other?

Good question.
I think they make more sense to bring to the parks rather than on a cruise. Looks like the only thing you could do with them on a cruise would be to pay on your room account.

I agree from what I have read in preparing for our cruise there would not be much use for them. Go shopping at the Disney store!

Don't take them on the cruise - one of the nice things about cruising is that you don't have to worry about carrying anything other than your room card. Likewise - buy something nice for the cruise at the Disney Store.

You wont need any money (regular or Disney dollars!) on the ship! You just use your "key to the world" card for all purchases while on the ship! Alcoholic beverages, duty-free, and treasures from the gift shops are pretty much what you'll use the card for! Let me back up just a bit! We did bring SOME cash! We used it for the little envelopes that you put gratuities in for your head waiter, server, and maid service! You don't need to do this, as you can put the amount for each tacked on to your final bill, but I really enjoyed handing each person an envelope and giving them a hug and a handshake! They really become like extended family to you!
