From Disney to the Cruise ship

I am trying to convince my husband to go on a cruise. His big question is how long is the bus ride from Disney to the ship? We are looking at going on a land and sea trip.

Re: From Disney to the Cruise ship

book them seperate - you wont have to stay at a moderate and you can stay at the pop making it more affordable
Also take Quick Silver as they are more personal and you dont have to leave when the busses leave we also found that it was not as expensive when you break it down- the disney bus is like $65 per person
The bus ride is about 30-40 min but you will never notice that.

That is funny that the time of the bus ride is his "big question" I think it is about 45 minutes.

You will love the cruise no question! I would also suggest pricing it separately.

Re: From Disney to the Cruise ship

I have a question...let's say you are DRIVING to WDW. You stay at WDW for a few days, then you drive to the cruise. Where do you leave your car and how much does it cost to leave it there?

Thinking of a cruise next year!

There is a parking lot there and the cost is $10 per day.

I hope you get to go!

30-40 minutes that's not bad, I thought it was more like 3 hours. He wasn't crazy about spending 3 hours on a bus. I am looking at booking separately. I am finding it quite expensive though. I promised my 2 boys we would stay at the Comtemporary this time (with MK view!). They are pretty excited about that and I know that is driving the price way up. Is it true the farther out you book the cruise the better price you will get? Or should I be waiting for specials? Also, we have to vacation in the month of August due to our business and school I am worried about hurricanes (or should I be?) . Anyone cruised in August before?

if you are staying at the contemporary then still book them seperate- that way you can take advantage of any rate drops in room prices. There are very rarely drops in cruise prices unless you get a onboard credit. If they are booked together you cant take the discount on the resort room. You also have no choice as to which rooms you get on the boat. We personally love the window rooms but that is our splurge- our first time on the boat we had inside stateroom and they were just as good - just no window.

I have boys that will be 12 and 14 yo when we go. Will there be enough for them to keep busy on the ship? We love Disney so much because we can alway be busy. I'm so afraid I will get bored on a cruise. We are not the type to just sit and do nothing.

Re: From Disney to the Cruise ship

If I go next year, kids will be 6 and 3. Will the 3 year old be able to go to the kids clubs???

Also, how much do you pay for the kids to cruise? What kind of state room would you experienced cruisers recommend for the 4 of us? I don't want a balcony/verrandah....TOO SCARED!!!!!!!

3years is the cutoff for the free club- that and they have to be toilet trained without pullups.

they will love shooting hoops on the top deck and the 12 year old will be able to go to the oceaneers club- the 14 gets to go to " Aloft" which is the teen club and is exclusive for the teens. They also get to eat whenever they want and swim and there are movies and shows and all sorts of activities- you will never see them.

Gotcha...but do they pay full price or is there a reduced rate for the 3rd and 4th passengers in the room? Or are there kids rates in general?

And what kind of room do you think will be OK? I have been on 4 cruises before, INSIDE CABIN each time. But with 2 kids, maybe I should get a window room?

I window room would be great. You need to just get on the Disney site and go through the steps to price out your cruise. It is fun. You've got to start dreaming somewhere.

Also, yes I belive the 3rd & 4th people are less.
