Advice Needed ASAP
So I'm about to book our very 1st cruise ever and I need advice. I have the option of getting an inside stateroom on deck 5 or a deluxe oceanview stateroom on deck 1 or 2 on the Disney Magic. There's a $200 price difference to get the room with a view which I don't mind paying if it's worth it.
I understand that the higher the deck level the better, is that correct? So I guess is it better to get a crappy deck level with a view or a better deck level without a window? By the way, I like the idea of deck 5 since that's where the oceaneer club is and since we'd have our kiddos with us that would be convenient. I want to get this booked ASAP so the quicker I can get replies the better. Thanks!!! |

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
I would personally go with level five with a view....they may consider the level ups to be "better" but closer to what you are going to use and having a view seems "better" to me....book it./

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
There lies the rub. The level 5 is w/o the view. If the level had the view it wouldn't even be an issue I'd book that in a heartbeat.
I guess my question is what is more important. Convenience of location (w/o a view) or not so great location with a view? |

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
The view is more important. You wouldn't let your kids wander to the club by themselves no matter where you are. What's a few more steps if you can have the better room?

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
Something else to consider the closer to the bottom and middle of the ship is the most stable and as this is your 1st cruise you may want to consider the lower floor and have the view.

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
I would go with the view. We were on deck 1 for our first cruise and it was a great location! The light is so worth it and your kids will like having the windows.

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
Usually people on a cruise are rarely in their staterooms. When we went on a cruise, a long, long, time ago. The advice I was given was, why pay anymore for a view you will probably never see. It was true in our situation. We we really only in the room to shower and sleep so the view was a non issue for us.

VIEW!!! Go with balcony if possible.
Sunrise or sunset at sea is worth it.

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
I have never been on a Disney cruise but I have been on other cruise lines. We always had an interior room because we were never in it and did not see the point in paying more. Does the oceanview room have a porthole or a balcony? A balcony would make me nervous with kids- just my opinion!!

Re: Advice Needed ASAP
I have friends who Disney Cruise often. They have gotten joint rooms on level 2 with little windows, joint interior rooms, and joint rooms with the big round windows. They were happy each time.
You hardly ever spend time in your stateroom (except when getting ready, so for my family... we actually spend quite a bit of time). When we cruise, it's a window or balcony decision. Honestly, there is nothing to see in the Caribbean except blue. That's all it is... water. If there's something important you want to look at, you can go to the top deck or (it's Deck 4 on the Mariner of the Seas... not sure of the Disney deck) the deck with the lightboats. It's your choice.... convenience or view. Neither are very important if you ask me.
