Disney Cruise Line Announces Fuel Surcharge
Magical Mountain News - Disney Cruise Line Announces Fuel Surcharge - Magical Mountain
Due to continually rising fuel prices, Disney Cruise LineŽ is implementing a fuel surcharge. The surcharge* is $8 per person, per day for the first two Guests in a stateroom and $3 per day for all other Guests. It is effective for new bookings only made on or after May 28, 2008. Additionally, the surcharge will be capped at $112 each for the first and second Guests in a stateroom and $42 each for all other Guests in the stateroom.

Oh WOWZA! I am SO thankful that I just booked my cruise & didn't wait. Anyone considering a cruise better book before May 28th!
Unfortunately this was bound to happen eventually.  I'm getting nervous to see what airfare is going to look like during the next year.

Well, we are spending something like 18% of the US oil consumption on the military, largely in the middle east. We should be fueling the war with Iraqi oil at Iraqi prices.
The fares to MCO from here have jumped 13% due to increased costs, and we are already paying a fuel surcharge on our Alaska cruise next week. The incresase have to get passed on, so that results in higher prices arcoss the board for EVERYTHING. And there is no end in sight. I drive about 25-30k miles a year in my business and my automobile expense is my highest business by far, including $12k annual health insurance costs!
