4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

Well now that I had to cancel the 7-night cruise and rebook a 4-night cruise I want to hear about this one!

Someone who's done this one, can you run down the events for me?

Do they still do the cool Pirates Party on this cruise? Can anyone suggest a nice excursion for Nassau?

On this 4-night cruise is there still a formal night? How does the dining work?

I wonder if they still have the "romance package" on this cruise, I am going to have to investigate.

I feel like I learned EVERYTHING about that 7-night itinerary and now I have to relearn everything again.

The good news is we've created our own "land" portion of the cruise; we'll be staying at SSR for 4 nights before boarding the Wonder.

Good for you!

Sadly, I know nothing, except all the rave reviews of all my friends that have been on the cruise . . . I'll see if I can find out some things for you. Altho, I am sure someone here will have all the details!

Re: 4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

We've done the 4 night cruise twice. I don't remember the Pirates Party, but it's been a few years, maybe they have it now. There was a "formal" night - ours was the night we went to Triton's. We also ate at Palo, which is "dress-up" - but Disney ships are notoriously casual - even "formal" night at best meant maybe a sports jacket for men - no ties are required even on formal night. I'm sure they have the romance package. You'll have a great time - our favourite part is Castaway Cay. Head for the adult beach "Tranquilty Cove". The water is so clear you don't need snorkle equipment - just walk along and there are tons of fish. An Atlantis tour in Nassau is a good option - we took a short morning one and had the afternoon to go to the beach there, roam the resort or downtown Nassau.

Don't miss any of the entertainment if you can help it - especially the "Awards Night". Choose the late seating and then you can do the entertainment before dinner, leaving after dinner for a nice evening in one of the clubs.

We never felt rushed at all on the 4 day. Enjoy it!

Re: 4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

I thought they have the Pirate Party on even the 3 night cruise. From all the stuff I've been reading, there's a party
Formal night: yes. But it seems from all the reports and picachures I've seen, formal on Disney is very, very informal Ladies in flipflops and such.
Romance package: Yes (why not? after all, they charge a pretty penny for it)

Re: 4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

I've done it (and hoping for another this October)! PM me with any of your questions!

Do they still do the cool Pirates Party on this cruise?
Yes we do! Pirate Night is on the 3rd night of the 4 night cruise.

Can anyone suggest a nice excursion for Nassau?
I've done the "Discover Atlantis" tour twice. Atlantis is the only thing that looks remotely interesting in Nassau to me. On my next cruise, I don't plan to even get off the ship. The cool part of this, the pool is empty!

On this 4-night cruise is there still a formal night? How does the dining work?
Night 1 and 4 are "Cruise Casual", Night 2 is "Dress Up Night" and Night 3 is "Pirate Night". You'll be scheduled for the same restaurant on Nights 2 and 3 but you will have the "Pirate Menu" on Night 3.

I wonder if they still have the "romance package" on this cruise, I am going to have to investigate.
Still available!

Re: 4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

Did they three but it's the same without a sea day...

Do they still do the cool Pirates Party on this cruise? YES with fireworks

Can anyone suggest a nice excursion for Nassau? SKIP the glass bottom boat. Go to Atlantis or something else. You can also spend part of the day on the beach and part in the spa - there will be specials most likely.

On this 4-night cruise is there still a formal night? There is a dress up night. Tux not required but coat and tie.

How does the dining work? You go to the resturant and eat. It will be your assigned time and location. Make sure you book Palos one night also!

I wonder if they still have the "romance package" on this cruise, I am going to have to investigate. YES

Re: 4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

You have already had most of your questions answered. I just want to tell you to have a wonderful time. The pirate party with fireworks was loads of fun.

You can get as dressy as you wish, but even dressy for Disney can be pretty casual. Really dressy is Palo.

Castaway Cay is so awesome and in Nassau, visit Atlantis.

We hope to go again some time next year.

Re: 4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

Thank you everyone! I am glad to hear we aren't going to miss out on the Pirate Party, I think Daniel is REALLY going to love that one. I'm not sure if we're going to do Palo or not, when we were going to do the 7-night cruise I was all over it but I want to make sure I don't miss out on eating at the Animator's Palate or Triton's. How do I know when to make the reservation for Palo so I don't miss either of those restaurants. I wouldn't mind skipping Parrot Cay for dinner but I don't know which night that would be.

Oh, and we requested the later seating time.

I would not do Palo on your first cruise being that it is a 4 day. Just enjoy the meals as they are. I believe a meal we had in Parrot Cay was one of my favorites.

You will ABSOLUTELY NOT skip Palos! The chocolate soufle (sp?) is worth it alone and I'm NOT a big chocolate nut.

You can actually ask pretty please to get one in the dinning room and they should be able to bring you one.

Re: 4-night Bahamas cruise on the "Wonder"

I second what Sara is saying. DON'T SKIP PALO!

It's to die for and some of the best food I've had, and service is awesome as well. The service is top notch outside of Palo and amazing enough it's notches above that.
