When everyone went to Castaway Cay we stayed on the ship and used the pool - jus us and one other person. The rest of the time the pools were very crowded.

Crusing is not for everyone and if you don't think it is for you then I would cancel and spend your vacation where you want and feel comfortable :)
This is how I feel our cruise would go. I am not a pool or sunny beach person. I like foul weather
I am happy to have cancelled and now it's 9 days at the parks, yippeeeeee

Welcome to MB, I hope you find this site fun and informational. Although, you're husband having worked for the mouse, you probably have some insights for us

Thanks for the welcome! I am a foul weather person myself so was not all into it - but some people are. I would do a cruise to Alaska - those sound cool.

My DH worked at WDW for 13 years! I was only there for 3 (6 months of that at Disneyland Paris) but it felt like a lifetime - in a good way

Don't you just love when it gets cloudy in the parks and ppl start leaving because they don't want to get caught in the rain? Then it doesn't rain or it does for like 15 minutes and the park is empty Love that!

What did you do for Disney?

I would love clouds at WDW but I am always blessed with no crowds and sunshine
knock on wood.

I was a hostess at Spoodles, then Front Desk at Y&BC. At DLP I did merchandise. Loved WDW, working at DLP left a bad taste in my mouth - but I made some great friends!

That's too bad about DLP. I would love to run one of the resorts.

Re: I am not sure any longer....

It was fun working FD but you do get the really cranky guests - if the flight was late, the weather (too hot, not hot enough), the transportation, the food at the parks etc.

Even problems with non-Disney parks we would hear about and think we would be able to help. But working at WDW really is like a family and we had a lot of fun! We would have stayed but then we had DD and the school system in Orlando was scary (not sure if it is any better now). We have been thinking about DLR though....

Re: I am not sure any longer....

Oh - funny story about DLP. I was the only CM at the Buffalo Bill store when all of these Britsh tourists came in. I was just being my usual Disney Tea, ringing them up and asking about their stay. A group of ladies came up to me and asked me where I was from. I said US and they said - "we knew it! You have been the only friendly CM we have encountered in our whole vacation"

It was funny but sad to think that by doing so little I rated so high in their opinion of what Disney CM should be like.

I can believe that. I have heard before how grumpy the CMs are at DLP.
