CONSIDERING a Disney Euro cruise. Although...
Alright, so just out of curiosity I checked out all these Euro cruises for 2010 that Disney is offering and to be honest I am almost considering cancelling our 4-night Disney Wonder Cruise in June '09 & booking the 7-night Dover to Barcelona cruise for July 2010. Why, you ask? Well, seeing as we have to travel during 'high times' this June '09 cruise is pretty expensive for what it is. It's only 4 nights, we aren't going anywhere REALLY exciting or exotic, and YES I am extremely excited to do it for our first Disney cruise BUT....
The Euro cruise is double the amount of time, only $2,000 more, I haven't been to Europe in 7 years and would LOVE to go back again, and we'd have an extra year to pay that additional $2k. Daniel has NEVER been to Europe and I think a Disney cruise could ease him into it well. What do you guys think... just a thought. Then again, who knows where we'll be in July 2010, ya know? That's a LONG way to go.

I would love the Euro cruise. I have not ever done a cruise but if you can get more for your dollar when you are spending that much....well I think that is a no brainer.

Then again, we'd have to consider the added expense of bigger airfare and spending $. I just can't believe I can do one of the Euro cruises for only $2,000 more & it's DOUBLE the amount of time and honestly more interesting in my opinion.

Re: CONSIDERING a Disney Euro cruise. Although...
If you look at it that way you are still getting the best of both worlds.
1. Disney, you get the Disney experience (which I would want) 2. For the $2000 you get the Euro side of it. You know as well as anyone, Disney does it big. By the sounds of previous MBers the Disney cruises are fabulous. Given that a Euro trip. And they have to set the bar like they have done with their other cruises. So for me, this investment would still be a Euro trip.

Re: CONSIDERING a Disney Euro cruise. Although...
These are all the locations the cruise visits:
Dover, England, Cherbourg, France, Vigo, Spain, Lisbon, Portugal, Cadiz, Spain, Gibraltar, U.K., Barcelona, Spain. I like these places but I REALLY REALLY would love the one that goes to Norway, Sweden, Russia, & Germany, etc... Unfortunately THAT cruise is way beyond my means. ![]()

I used to travel to London every year while I was in college and I LOVED it there, it used to be my favorite city in the world. But I've never been to other places in England.

I'm booked on the 8 night from Dover to Barcelona! You should totally go! We're not sure if we're gonna go or not but we have plenty of time to think about it!

Re: CONSIDERING a Disney Euro cruise. Although...
I'd just do Disney in June and do the Europe cruise in 2010. Because if you think about it you will probably easily drop that extra 2000 on a few more Disney trips throughout the year.

Have you looked at what the difference in airfare would be too?

Re: CONSIDERING a Disney Euro cruise. Although...
I would love the European cruise. The ports of travel are amazing and for me it would be worth the wait. I wouldn't be able to afford both cruises so would prefer the European one even if I had to save 2 or 3 thousand more.

Re: CONSIDERING a Disney Euro cruise. Although...
I would so do the Euro cruise. I can tell that's what you really want and what a nice way for Daniel to see Europe for the first time. Have you checked to see what that cruise would cost non-Disney or is that important to you? I say go for it.
