We have only been on 1 other cruise and that was carnival 5 years ago and we had a blast...
Nope we didnt use our DVC points, we only have 150 which wasnt nearly enough to have the balcony room. We were going to use points and pay the rest in cash but I didnt want to do that either cause I wanted to make sure that I had points to do other vacations over the next 2 years... We are going to use some of our points to stay in disney the night before the cruise... I really want to try and get Bay Lake towers but its too early to call....

Sounds like a great plan! BTW, you can call March 15th for Bay Lake Towers.

I hope to go on a Disney Cruise one day. I have a bunch of points, but I have heard that using points isn't a good value. I heard if you want to go on a cruise in lieu of going to WDW, rent out your points then book the cruise with the money you made renting points.

Yes it wasnt worth it at all to use our points for the cruise plus I did want to keep the points. Thanks for the info on Bay Lake... I have to mark that on my calendar so that I can call 1st thing in the am....

Re: We are going on our 1st Disney cruise.

We booked our first Disney Wonder cruise. The eastern Bahama 4 nighter, 1/3-1/7/10.

We banked & borrowed enough DVC points for a week before at WDW, the cruise, and a week after (marathon week). So we'll only be out of pocket for gratuities, and land meals/souvenirs, not to mention the airfare to get to Florida.

Has anyone gone to WDW first, then the cruise, and then back to WDW? I'm trying to figure out if the DCL bus is provided, or if that's an extra fee? Anyone know the answer to this?

You can take DCL transportation to and from the port to WDW - it's $70 round trip per person. Just let DCL know which resort they are picking you up from and where they are taking you back to!
