I'm using frequent traveler points for one of the hotels so the cost is zero (0). Any chance you have something like that? Credit card points? Hotel points?
I really don't want to pay for a rental car to drive to a hotel just to stay the night before. I don't know, I am going to have to think about this one.

If worse came to worse we could probably flight the NIGHT before, like after work & stay at the hotel in the orlando airport.

Everything I have ever read about that very subject said to get there the afternoon before and stay at a hotel close to port. That would make sense.

Re: Arriving at MCO on your cruising day?

The family I work for are going on a cruise this saturday! They are leaving Friday morning, taking ME to AKL (Kadani Village) and then eating a late lunch/early dinner at DTD and seeing Cirque!!! Then they are going back to AKL for a swim and night vision goggles. Next morning breakfast at Boma and then DCL bus will take them to port at noon.

I HAVE TO WORK!!! I don't think anyone is hearing me.

The closest thing I could do would be to flight in LATE the night before. But then there's the logistics of getting to a hotel at 11pm-ish the night before the cruise.

Re: Arriving at MCO on your cruising day?

If a late night flight is possible (the night before) that is what I would do. Take ME to a Disney resort (DVC or otherwise) and then you can take a DCL bus from the resort to port.

Hmmm, that's pretty good deal! I would have to call them & ask about how late the shuttle picks up at MCO because we'd be getting in the night before around 11pm-ish.

Yeah, we may have to do that. I am going to have to look at all the options and figure it out.

Re: Arriving at MCO on your cruising day?

I might have miss the info, but I read the hotel site as free shuttle to the port from the hotel, not from the airport. If that is true, what would a town car cost from the airport to hotel vs what disney transporation would charge?

Unless staying overnight would be so much more, I'd spend the extra money, fly out after work (I was listening), get a good night sleep and have lots of time to get to the ship.

Re: Arriving at MCO on your cruising day?

Unless you can get an early flight take the late night flight the night before. Use ME or Quicksilver. Studio, OKW - 11 points. You can't beat that anywhere in MCO plus they will drop you off at OKW and the Crusie bus will pick you up there too! Even time for a few hours in the park in the AM before heading to the ship.

We are able to arrive earlier in the day so we plan on going to DTD or the Disney outlet stores near DTD first. We were able to get a reasonable rate for the car so it happens to work out for us.

It's a tough schedule for you. I understand about not being able to get out of work. Good luck!

Re: Arriving at MCO on your cruising day?

We are taking a Disney cruise in January. We have decided to fly down the day before to aleviate any delays that would affect us boarding the ship. If it is at all possible I would seriously consider flying down at least the night before just to be on the safe side. I have experienced several hour flight delays in the past even on non stop flights and you certainly wouldn't want that! I have read you can get on the boat around 10:30 or 11:00 so why not get there early and start enjoying the ship! Maybe check the rates of the hotel right at MCO. We are staying at Pop for 1 night before our cruise and then after our 4 day cruise returning to WDW for 3 nights at the BW.
