checking into the DCL

we are at the WDW resorts for 7 days and then 5 of the 12 of our group is continuing onto the DCL for a 4 day cruise. I have been under the impression that when we check into the resort we are also checked into our cruise or at least our info will follow us. Our last night is at the WDW resort FW Cabin. I was just told by out travel agent that we need to take all our bags to the WL and check in at the cruise desk. Has anyone ever had to do this? Is it simple? How early do we need to be there? Can I pre-check in earlier in my trip? Is my travel agent wrong? HELPPP!!:nooo:

I wish I could help more. We stayed at WL before our cruise. We did check in at the desk, a day after we arrived at WL. There are papers to be filled out and they check your booklet to be sure you filled that all out correctly. Do you have a PS at WC or anything? Maybe you could just take your booklet and stop at the desk to get the paperwork done and then they can answer all your questions re: luggage and arrival times. Just a thought! Have a super time. The cruise is AWESOME!!! (we liked it so much we have done it three times now..hopefully for a week in the future!)

crystalrp- what time did you have to be at the WL desk to catch the transfer to the ship? Do you bring all your bags?

First remember that we were staying at WL to begin with. Our bags were taken directly from our room to the ship. They were in our stateroom when we got there. The other times we cruised, we were given a sheet with different times and locations the cruise line bus would be doing pick ups. We had to pick one of these locations and let the cruise line know, via a certain phone number, which location we would be leaving from. Our baggage was always taken from our hotel room early in the morning. I think when we left from WL we had to be in the lobby to catch the bus at around 11:00. One time we caught the bus from DQ at Downtown disney, but I can't say for sure what options are available to you now. I really suggest you take a run over to WL and check in at the DCL desk to set your mind at ease. Maybe make a PS at WC that way you would have two reasons for visiting WL and wouldn't feel you were taking time away from your vacation touring. The people at the cruise desks are all VERY NICE and EXTREMELY HELPFUL!! I'm sure you won't have any trouble at all. Happy cruising and feel free to ask any questions. I will be more than happy to answer whatever I can. :)

I remember having to meet with a rep from DCL in the lobby of the GF. I really don't recall the details of this meeting...but, it didn't take too long. There was some paperwork that she went over with us..and she wanted to make sure that we had birth certificates..and so on.
We drove ourselves to Port Canaveral and we took our own luggage to the ship with us. Once we got there, our luggage was taken care of for us.
Oh, I am so excited for you. You are going to have a fabulous time. Take lots and lots of pics for us!:D
