    Re: Really Cheapskate Tip

I never go into the stores, unless it is to buy for someone else. There is plenty of awesome shopping at home and I am there to do what cannot be done where I live. Money saving tips are awesome, it is the only way that a lot of families can afford to visit every year. Do NOT get a preferred room. It is not that much closer, you can request a closer room upon arrival and you will be walking all day anyway, you don't need to pay extra for that. There is a difference between being "cheap" and being "frugal". You can have a blast without spending so much money that it is no longer a relaxing vacation. Of course, you should use Magical Express. Why would you pay extra when you don't have to? Magical Express is convenient, safe and free, why in the world wouldn't you use it when you paid to stay at the resort? That is just like throwing money into a trash can. If I have extra money, I will pay for kids at Big Brothers Big Sisters to go to Disney World - instead of just wasting it on a cab that it is completely NOT needed. Everyone's family has different preferences, but we never waste money on a hopper ticket. There is so much going on at every park that you need the entire day or more at each of them. Plus, it wastes precious time when you wait for a bus and then have to ride the bus. It costs them nothing for you to hop, so don't pay extra for it, just don't hop. If you aren't staying at a Disney resort, avoid the park that has extended magic hours because it will be extra crowded all day. If you are a triple A member, in the military or live in FL there are discounts, ASK ASK ASK.

Do your Disney souvenir shopping online OR at a Disney Outlet Store.

I am a frugal visitor, but it allows us to go yearly or even a lil more. Some of the ways we do it.
    1. Buy 10 day no expiration tickets with all options, averages 61 bucks a day.
    2. We pack a lunch, with the parks being all day, there is always time for a quick break. At HS and AK, we pack the lunch and leave in parking lot, its a quick walk since we have handicap parking. Mega sandwiches are packed in advance, and only take seconds to pass out and disribute. Usually my kids wont even eat dinner since the lunch is at 230pm and they stay full, leaves money for eveneing snacks at firework
    3. Take our own water and flavor packets, ask CM for ice, and they give it easily. We asked for 17 in one day for our group. Keeps the water cold and keeps the kids hydrated.
    4. We buy kids neon light toys at dollar stores, that way they have something for the nighttime events.
    5. We take pretzels, and other snacks as needed into the park, but mostly we keep ourselves focused on seeing everything and enjoying our time.
