Nearly Free DVC points

OK, for some strange reason, I ended up with 16 points that are going to expire. They have to be used by May 31, or I will lose them. 16 points will get you a studio at any of the DVC properties for one night (weekday night). Please let me know if you are interested.

Make me an offer, I am willing to deal.

I am new at this...but how much is 16 points..worth? We're going on June 1st and staying at a DVC would be awesome (although im postive unrealistic)..but I'd feel like a real *** if i said...20 dollars!...and it was worth like...160,000 dollars

cinderbella, I am only responding because I noticed that no one has replied to your inquiry in the last hour and I can imagine that you are anxious.

You mentioned that you are going to WDW "on June 1st". Would you be able to go one day earlier because, I believe, that Mickey's points will be good for use up to the 31st. I don't think that he can book a unit using the expiring points for a June 1 check in.

RE: the worth ("Priceless," of course!

) The "average" going rate for a DVC point is $10 but I have rented points at $6 each and I know of folks that rent at $13 each. So, as you can see, there is room for negotiation. Frankly, I think that if an owner is just going to lose the use of the points, that she/he may be willing to settle for small compensation vs. zero compensation.

Just my opinion . . .

What lopo said is right. The last night I can book for would be May 31, subject to availability of course. If you can use them, that would be great. Normally, the points would be worth $125 - $150, but since this is last minute, I am not looking for anything near that. Somewhere in the $25 - $50 range would be sweet. Hey, you can bet $50 per night for a studio at one of the Villa resorts.

Mickey, I wish I could help but unfortunately we are not going back till October. Maybe someone who is attending one of the Star Wars weekends would be a good candidate.

You could try posting on DIS Boards Trade/Rental board...lots more action there and a lot of last minute deals...good luck!

Well, I actually wanted a DC member to use them, if possible. It's not the money, I just don't want the points to go to waste.
