How Hard is it to sell rent out points??

We are thinking of adding on 120 more points to bring us to a total of 420 points. I was just on Disboards (I know, I know Boooooo Stan) and I was overwelmed at how many people are trying to rent out their points. Is it hard to rent out points if you are reasonable??

If so, I am a bit wary about adding the 120. I always thought that I could rent them out if need be. Any thoughts???

I have never rented them out, per se. I have reserved a week at OKW (well, 5 weekday nights) and sold them on eBay. I think my cost is about 40 points for each one, and I can usually sell the weeks for $400 - $500. A couple of years ago, I could get over $600 easy, but it has gone down as people have figured out how to do this.

I'd probably rent the points from you every year, Skwak! We're not ready to buy yet, but had a great experience renting and will continue to do so. I'd love to rent from a DCer, so grab those 120 points and you can be my DVC surrogate.

I think renting points from a fellow DCer would be great! I wouldn't rent from someone who joined here just to rent points but I would rent from a long time DCer.

I am still working on my DW but I think she is starting to soften a bit. She keeps mumbling something about bills to pay....

I rented once a few years back. But, I knew someone who knew the person that I rented from.
It was an easy transaction and worked out great.
I will my self be looking for points for next May, since we'd like to stay in a studio.

Well, I have rented points (from a stranger) and rented my points and my best friend's points (to some more "strangers"). The easiest thing to do is to rent them all to one renter. However, that doesn't always take care of the total points you have to rent. When I was renting my and my friend's points, the total between us was 350. I ended up renting to six renters to sell all of the points. That was a lot of work, trust, and time involved. However, in the end, I was ablt to rent all and I think that all the renters were happy with their purchases, too.

BTW, Stan, I had dozens of inquiries when I listed the points on DisBoards. So, even though there are many folks renting their points out, I think there is a large market for them. I have noticed that some folks charge more $ than the average ($10 pp) and they get takers, too.

If I could afford it, I'd jump on the bandwagon to add the 120 promo points. I'd rent them out for the most part to cover the dues on the 120 and perhaps even some of the dues on my other 150. I definitely think that one can easily cover one's annual dues by renting.
