Hi,
I am probably going to need an additional 57 points for a vacation scheduled from 5/6/06 to 5/13/06 at OKW. This would be my first time renting points. I have a couple of questions.
1. To rent points from another member, does the other member make a reservation in my name and then send the reservation to me? I would obviously be paying the going rate for points to this other member.
2. Can the number of point I need to rent be a specific number like 57 or do the points have to be tied to a number of days?
3. What is the common form of payment, check, money order, credit card?

Hi Winchape,

1. To rent from another member, the best way to handle it is a straight transfer of points from their account to yours. You could do the reservation thing as you describe but the transfer is much easier.
2. Any number of points work with a transfer. Reservations are tied to days.
3. Most people will work with either a check or Paypal. Paypal works the best since everything can be done in a matter of an hour but most people will take a check.

Hope I answered your questions. I actually have extra 2006 points that I would be willing to transfer. I'll send you a PM with my e-mail address and work phone number. I am actually going to WDW in two days so we either would have to hurry up or talk and then complete the transaction after I return. No sweat either way!

I didn't wish to burden the board w/a new thread, but I have a new question.

Is it allowed for someone to reserve a room at their home resort (at 11 months out) then flip it to me when I get to my 7 month window?

I want to stay in OKW 12/2008 but fear the grand Villas will be booked before I can make reservations in 05/'08.

Hey, Boss,

What is your home resort?
Maybe we can swing a deal. For the time you're going, Dec. 2008, I have 120 pts. available with OKW as my home. If you could go in Nov. I would have 180 available, as I have points banked that must be used by Nov. 30, 2008. Of course, I won't be able to make the ressies until Jan. 2008. We want to go next summer, and would prefer a different resort.

Hi Bossmouse. I think the answer is absolutely yes. I have made reservations for people only to change the names on the reservation at a later date. Hope this helps.
