If the points have to used by Sept 30, the banking deadline is way past.

They were barrowed points so I couldn't bank them even if I had wanted to. I just thought if someone needed them, I had them! They are enough to extend a night or two depending where you want to stay! Anyone?

I want to go Aug 15-17 . . . so could I use them and then pay the rest out of pocket . . . or is this something a DVC member needs to use?

Explain . . . I'm so out of the loop on the points thing!

Right now as a passholder for that weekend I can get a studio at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa OR Disney's Old Key West Resort with the dining plan for the 3 of us for $509.65? NOT SURE THIS IS A GOOD DEAL . . . again I know nothing about these resorts or points!

You can use the points. The member books everything and you pay the member. The passholder rate is really good if that price includes the dining plan.

Is this a 2 night trip checking in on the 15th and checking out on the 17th? If so it would take 51 points and that would cost you $510 at ten dollars a point. This doesn't include the dining plan, you would have to add that to the price.

Yes! That $509 does include the dining!

So it would be like my own "FREE DINING" trip! No wonder the CM telling me about it was excited!!

Yeah, this really doesn't make sense for you. The free dining is a great thing. Keep what you have. I will wait and see if anyone is interested. Enjoy your trip!

You are welcome to them but I have to get this rolling asap, because there are a couple of others interested if it won't work for you! I will PM you and we can make contact to work out the details. I only ask that you do some research, The points would end up costing you $250 so figure out if this is better for you, you would have to pay for the dining on your own. We DVCer's aren't privledged with free dining during sept so I can't help you out, but if it all works out for you, YEAH!!!!!!! Talk to you soon!

I do understand! We are still getting the hang of all of th3 renting and booking and banking window stuff and we have had it for over 2 years now!

Basically, it all depends on when you decide to go! There are different seasons and during the value seasons your points will get you much more. You will see a points chart in some of your paperwork, but take this example for instance:

September it is a value season so if you looked into staying in a studio at Old Key West you could stay:
Sunday through Thursday @ 8 points/day x 5 days =35 points
or you could do a
Thursday (8 pts), Friday (20 pts) and Saturday(20 pts) = 48 pts

but if you wanted to stay at Beach Club Villas it will cost you more points, for example:
Sunday through Thursday @ 12 pts/day x 4 days =48 pts
or you could stay
Friday and Saturday @ 22 pts/day = 44 pts

Those are just examples of using your points in a value season. Of course if you go during a Premier season it will cost you a lot more points per night! Take a good look at all of the information, but we have never had any regrets and to be honest, each one of the DVC's are beautiful and very spacious! I was very impressed!
