The deluxe resorts don't have the big food courts the value and moderate resorts have but they do offer some type of counter service option. WL has a counter service restaurant, BC has a small counter in the gift shop that has limited choices, BW has the bakery, SSR has a pretty good counter in the gift shop. I don't know about AK or OKW but I'm sure there's some type of counter service offered. AllEars has all the menus if you look at the resort section.

They all offer sit down restaurants and gift shops.

How do you rent to several people? I thought there was some kind of rule of 1 transfer (don't know the right wording) a year. I've never tried to rent, but it's always in the back of my mind that if money got tight, that would be an option. Of course we don't have that many points, so that rule probably wouldn't matter.

You can only transfer points once a year but you can make as many reservations as you want. When you ren points you make a reservation in the name of the renter and mail them the info. It's really that easy.

Not a problem. Most people think that it's just like making reservations through CRO. But there are some major differences. That's why I went into detail.

Personally, I never could understand why people rented points - until I sat down and really looked at the whole picture. When you compare what the same accomidations cost you from Disney it is one heck of a savings. It really is a great deal for both the member AND their rental guest!

As have I, but it's like shopping...I wait till it's a price I want. If I can get them for $10-$11 per, why the heck would I pay $14? crazy. Some are right smack in the middle of it all and some are out more - just like ALL other Disney resorts. They all have counter service and gift shops. (The gift shops at DVC resorts offer more of a grocery selection but you are much better off to make a grocery stop outside if you can.)

They all have the Disney transportation system - busses, boats, and monorail.

BWV, BCV, and WL have table service places in the reqular hotel parts. Table service isn't considered a big deal because DVCs are "home away from home" with kitchettes or kitchens. (Like I'm cooking on vacation! )

Each location, just like all of the Disney resorts, has some good and not so good. Beach Club and Broadwalk are walk to Epcot and Studios. OKW & SSR have boat service to Downtown Disney. WL has boat service to MK. BLT will be walk to MK and monorail service. AKV has animals outside your room. All of them require bus service to get to somewhere.

thanks for the info. I guess I was thinking renting points was the same as a transfer. So it would be the same as if I gave points to my sister to use.

I am going to AKV for Thanksgiving week and paying $12 per point since it's a holiday and I had it booked 11 months out. I think $11 per with insurance is a pretty good deal!

That's the same as if you rented them out, you can do that as many times as you want in a year. A transfer is if you called MS and had them move them to my account and I used them to book a trip.

Have rented some but can still rent 150-200 points.

Reservations can be made anytime from now through Oct 2009 presently.

I now have 350-500 points for rent. Most of what I have can be used for SSR reservations and 7 months in advance.

Time to be thinking about making reservations for those trips throught June 09 now. The sooner you reserve, the better the chances are for dates you want!
