Crazy luggage question ??
I am drawing a blank here
What is best to put on your luggage tags: Your name & address ? OR The Resort you are going to and address ? Is it still "Not" a good idea to advertise your address on the outside of your luggage like that ?? Thanks!

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
I always put all of my information on the outside of the bag. Now that you have me thinking about it I probably wouldn't. If you arrive without your luggage you have to give them an address where they can deliver the luggage, so it doesn't matter if your name is on there. I would put my name and address on any carry-on luggage.

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
I put my business card flipped backward with my resort phone and name written on the outside... If I loose it or it "gets" lost... I figure one of my wonderful coworkers could direct my luggage home without the world knowing where I live! I do leave a Itinerary on the inside of the main luggage bag also.... But then I tend to be a bit neurotic .... only occasionally *smirk*

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
Matt McDonnell, I think your method is fantastic! I always carry my cell phone when I am away from home, so if someone needed to contact me about my luggage it would be easy to do so. And, I like the idea that my home address isn't advertised.
Doh! Why didn't I think of that? Thanks for sharing!

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
I dont know if I should have made a new thread about this but it is sort of the same thing...
Does anyone know if this is true.... I heard that you can no longer have locks on your luggage now when you fly? There is supp 1 kind of lock out there that you can buy and use but that is because all of the airlines carry a "master key"??? Is this true?

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
They prefer that you do not have locks on the luggage, and certain airports ban them completely (Orlando is one of these airports). This is so that when they x-ray your bag if they need to open it they can instead of possible breaking the lock, or your luggage. I would not put locks on my bags!

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
Thanks for the info Although I dont agree with it I guess that I can understand why they are doing it. I just dont trust the people that work at the airport I mean now more than ever if they want to go thru your suitcase and take stuff they can.

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
I know this may sound a little too trusting, but I would not worry. There are lots of video cameras watching them, and they really don't have time to steal things from your suitcase. If they are the one that holds that plane up they will loose their job!

Re: Crazy luggage question ??
First, why is it a bad idea to have your address on your luggage? I always have my name, address and CELL phone number on my luggage tag. My luggage tag is always the same then we insert a little piece of paper with our destination for each trip.
Second, DH and I always lock our bags. When we arrive at the airport for luggage checking we take the lock off. When we receive our luggage at baggage claim we put the locks back on. We are more worried of the strangers that handle our bags, not the airport employees, i.e. cab drivers, baggage handlers at the airport etc. Lisa
