Plan an "OFF Day" in WDW?

I was just reading some of the trip reports, which I love. I've notice that some DCers spend a day without the parks, just relaxing. I've been sketching out our trip a bit and have noticed that we have an extra day (checkout day) and also a full day we're planning to spend at Disney Quest and DTD. We've got 8 nites in WDW, a 4 day park hopper, one day at universal and one day at Seaworld. Then one day with the InLaws in Port St. Lucie. (I'm trying to talk Stu into getting the house for an extra nite and driving to Inlaws early on the 10th day for a visit since our plane doesn't take off till 8pm, but he wants to stay with his parents, in a small house, with 4 children and our friends will have to get a room for the night around WPB) I was wondering if we should do Sea World on our checkout day and spend a day relaxing outside the parks. It is a vacation right? Any suggestions, other than DTD that is, since I have a day planned there.

Thanks,
Jen

I have to agree with you. I would spend your check-out day at Sea World and have a day in there for fun at your resort and maybe a park that you want to do over. Maybe there is a prade or a night show that you will miss somewhere and like to go back to. I love having a "down" day at my resort to enjoy all that it has to offer. Why pay all that money for a resort if you aren't going to hang at it a bit?

We call them 'down days', where we do not go to the parks. We plan some down days for off-site activities, some down days for staying by the pool and sometimes we have a down day for just sleeping late with nothing planned the entire day - see what happens when we wake up. Our vacations typically have more down days than park days.

We were there for two weeks and had a 'down day' after the first week and we needed it!

Unlike a lot of people we weren't too impressed with Sea World, but If you do go there it will be an easy day. Although there is a bit of marine life to see wondering round most of your day will be taken up by watching the shows. If you like that sort of thing, it would offer you a break from walking!

On our last (full) day we went back to the parks and went on the rides we liked best. And before we flew off we had a character breakfast - That was a nice way to end the holiday.
