From Wdw To St. Pete Airport??

DD and I are driving to WDW this may, arriving May 14th (late afternoon) and staying on-site. DW, DS and his fiance are flying down May 19th from STL. The thing is that they're flying into St. Petersburg/Clearwater airport. We found flights for just $99 and couldn't pass that deal up. Their flight arrives at St. Pete May 19 at 7:10 p.m. Any suggestions from locals as to when I should leave WDW to go pick them up? How much driving time should I allow?

HI! We just did this flight from detroit to st Pete last week. WE found that Saturday morning when we arrived it only took us 1 hour and 5 minutes to get to Disney World from the airport. But our return trip back on Monday was 2 hours and 15 minutes. Due to all the construction on 4 and 275. I would gave yourself about 2 and 1/2 hours. Construction is really bad.

I would say to give yourself 2.5 to 3 hours to get there. there is alot of constrcution going on through that whole section (west of disney to the end).Remember that is rush hour and the Tampa is a real city, in terms of people have normal jobs that get out at regular times.

Yes. We could fly Trans-Meridian airlines from St. Louis Mid-America to Orlando-Sanford for $79, but the flight dates didn't match our needs.

We were also looking at Trans-Meridian airlines from St. Louis Mid-America to Orlando-Sanford for $79 but they don't fly out on the days we needed. I was a little sad over that, Mid-America would be a great choice for us since half our group will be coming from the east side of St. Louis.

Is USA 3000 an airline? We are starting to look at flights for this summer, I hope we can get a deal like the one you got.

USA3000 is an airline that offers discount flights from Lambert Field in STL to St.Petersburg/Clearwater Airport. We were in the same boat as you - the days we needed the flights weren't available at Mid-America. I have flown out of Mid-America (back when the "reborn" Pan-Am flew from there to Orlando/Sanford) and I loved it! My Father-in-Law flew from Orlando to Mid-America this past November (my in-laws retired south of Orlando). He really liked it. Too bad the flights weren't the correct days for us this time. But USA3000 doesn't seem to be too bad a choice, either. They fly out of the East Terminal at Lambert Field, so it's a lot easier in and out than at the main terminal.
