driving back north help.

I leave tomorrow for the great white north of NJ.

I want to make it to Richmond VA area. Is that a good goal and anyone have any idea of places to stay?

Thanks.

(PS I'm going to try and leave before 7:00 tomorrow morning)

Before DH and I had the kids, we always drove to Florida in one day. It's not so bad when you don't have to stop for potty breaks and leg stretching every 30 minutes!!

Richmond from northern NJ/NYC? That's a cinch! Richmond is just a little further past Washington DC. All you need to do is avoid the beltway near rush hour times. At all costs!!

We lived in Newport News, VA for a few years and used to do the drive to and from there to RI on weekends. It's not a bad drive at all.

Re: driving back north help.

Thanks Dana...I looked at the weather report all the way up I-95 and it looks like a good weekend!

ddoll, How about heading back north? Is getting to Richmond from Orlando in one day reasonable for one person?

Re: driving back north help.

Ok I got in last night...I left Orlando a little after 5:00 am and drove straight thru. The only rough spot was DC were I got snarled in some beltway traffic.

It is cold and Tomorrow starts my work to get back down to the warm sun of FLA.

Thanks everyone for you help!
