Santa Monica Pier
I've only been to the Santa Monica Pier during the day so my question is, how sketchy is it at night? I REALLY like the Mariasol restauant and I want to take my dad there but I didn't know if he'd be a little apprehensive about the late evening crowd?
I'm thinkin' early dinner at Mariasol and the SM Promenade afterwards might be better.

I was going to say that I wouldn't think twice about it, but that was a while ago and things may have changed. (Although... I probably still wouldn't think twice about it... I'm good at being misguided!)
The nice thing about an early dinner and then a stroll over to the Promenade is that you can catch the sunset. Now go listen to Christine Lavin's song "Santa Monica Pier" to get into the mood!
