10 Year Anniversary at WDW - Ideas?
My wife and I have decided to go to Disney World for our 10th Wedding Anniversary this April. Being Florida Residents we have been to Disney at least once over the past 3 years, but we always went with our 3 children. This time we are going alone. We are going to stay at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort for 3 days. Right now our only plan is to go on the "Keys to the Kingdom" Tour. Epcot is my Wife's favorite park so I know we will be spending some time there as well. Do any or you have any other suggestions to help make this a memorable event?

Welcome to DisneyCentral. My wife and I spent our 15th anniversary at WDW and on a Disney Cruise in December. We splurged and stayed at the Polynesian. I would suggest you do the same. It is a special occasion, and with Florida resident discounts that should come out, you should be able to get a great deal. Just get a garden view. You will be close enough to walk over to the Ticket and Transportation Center to hop on the monorail to EPCOT. Easiest way to the park. Plus, the whole resort is so romantic, your wife will thank you for it for years to come.
Have fun planning!

I agree with MICKEY...Stay at the Polynesian... I would take a lagoon room view though.... I liked being able to sit on the balcony at night, look over at Cinderella's Castle, and watch the fireworks as well as the light parade across the seven seas lagoon. And it is so Romantic..... I was so glad that we picked the Polynesian (Sunset Pointe) for our wedding last year. :heart Oh and here is just a little side thought if you want to surprise your wife with something contact Disney Weddings www.disneyweddings.com I know that they have honeymoon packages and there was some really cool gifts that we got sent to our room... :heart :heart :) :heart :heart Dinner at the Calfornia Grill (top of the Contemporary) very romantic :heart

Welcome to DC, gcbdad!
Looks like you and your wife really love Port Orleans Riverside...I do to! It is one of the most private and secluded of all the resorts I have found. Since you will be on a second honeymoon...make sure you tell every cast member that you speak to. I am sure they will do something that will make your stay memorable.

Thank you for your suggestions.:)
I agree that the Polynesian is very nice but living in Florida we have access to beaches and the tropical atmosphere is available elsewhere. Besides, my wife and I have fallen in love with Port Orleans Riverside , especially the Magnolia Bend section. When we've visited with our children we noticed many people bicycling around and we love the boat ride to DownTown Disney. I guess the downside is the convenience of the monorail. This is my first time using this kind of service where I can get this much information and actually talk to the many Disney lovers that are out there. Again, thank you so much.:)

My DH and I did our 10 year in Oct of 2002 and we stayed at the Poly. It was our first trip there so we splurged. We had a garden view but it was a corner room so we were also able to see the castle and the lagoon at night.
When you make your Reservation tell them it is your Anniversary. We arrived to our room and found a Bottle of Champange and a plate of chocolates and a certificate that said Happy Anniversary. We also had breakfast at the royal table in cinderella castle. When we told them it was our Anniversary they gave us Royal table Champage glasses to keep. They are a great souveiner(spelled wrong) and I treasure them. I agree tell everyone that you see it is your special day and you might be surpised what will happen next. |
