My whole family will be traveling from Vermont to Orlando in September for my wedding...anyone have any tips on any possible group rates or how that would work? We would fly out of Hartford(Bradley)CT, Manchester New Hampshire, or Burlington Vermont, but not necessarilly on the same dates.

I just recently booked a group fare for 11 for Oct 2003. We fly Spirit Airlines out of Atlantic City to Orlando.
Their minimum for a group is 10 people. The rate was no better than the rate on their website, but there are a few advantages.
You can reserve your flight with 25% down instead of paying in full when you make the reservation. You don't have to pay the balance until 30 days before your flight. Your deposit is refundable if you cancel at least 60 days before the flight. A normal flight on Spirit is non-refundable. In this case, you do have the option of cancelling and rebooking if the fares drop significantly. The problem with that is trying to rebook 11 seats.
I think the most important thing for me was having the peace of mind knowing that we have our reservations and that we are paying a reasonable fare that will not go any higher.
I don't know how the group fares will be on other airlines, but that is how Spirit handles group fares.
