When do schools close for the summer?

I was just wondering when the schools in everyone's area close for the summer. Here in Maryland most of our public schools don't close until the 2nd or 3rd week of June. Our local county school actually close on June 19th. I am just curious to see how many other school districts close at that time or earlier.

Our girls go to private school and their last day is June 6th.

My son is expected to get out on June 13th, but we had a snow day last week.

I surprised he hasn't started counting down the days. This will be the first summer with no camp or sitters.

We're out by June 1st this year. Early. Usually it's around the middle of June and school starts again Tuesday after Labor Day

My DD goes to private school here in south jersey. She doesn't get out until the second full week of June....long year this year.

Thanks. We are staying June 7-12. The UG crowd calendar says 9s

for those days and others have said that the crowds will be up because of schools being closed. I just figured that most schools were like ours and got out later in June and we would have decent crowds

. How about the Florida schools?

Here in Ohio...last day usually around the very end of May and we start around between Aug 20-22 every year. Due to the blizzard we got last week, we may end up going a few days into June though. You guys really get out that late in the summer???

Wow! In Upstate NY my kids go until June 22nd!!! Is that good or bad???

When do you guys start school? Here, we have heard so much talk about making them go year round

. I can barely get through the 9 months of school with some sanity left, let alone a whole year!

Here in VA they get out the 14th of June but my nieces in Ontario Canada get out the 29th of June

I wish my kids had year around schooling like I did when I was their age. Then you get nice little 3 week vacations between the quarters and you can so easily go on a Disney trip without the huge peak season crowds!

But here in SW Washington it looks like June 21st is the end of the road for most kids...
