Well I won't be here to hear your review of the new system LiMS. We'll be leaving right behind you. But I suspect we'll be using the new boarding method from Providence too.

I flew SW just last week and really liked the new system. Much less standing and it seemed more relaxed.

Were you able to print all the passes at once? I had to pick one name, check in, go back, pick next name, check in, etc. I was sort of confused at first, so my 2 1/2 yr old DGD has A -23 and DD and I have 30 and 31. All three tickets were booked under the same confirmation number, so I don't quite understand this. Last time we flew (before all this) we just checked off one box and it printed all the passes at once. I was expecting the same thing this time.

Yes, I was able to print all of our passes at the same time.

Re: Has anyone flown on SW with the new boarding system?

I printed all mine at the same time. I like the new system too. I does save standing.

and for a tip.... give someone at home who has internet access your confirmation number, etc for checking in on the return flight. (I forwarded my email to a co-worker) I called her and confirmed that morning that she could check me in. She did, right at the 24 hour mark - got us A boarding passes again. Then when we worked our way to the front of the park (we were in Magic Kingdom) - about 3 hours later, I went into guest relations and he printed them for me.

They can also check you in at guest relations, but I was afraid of waiting in line too long and getting a B or C boarding pass. This worked quite well.

That's a good tip but let's not tell anyone beyond our MB family, cause then everyone will do it. I was giving my DH "lessons" on how to check us in, so we can do just as you said. Last trip I waited until the 24 hrs and 2 min, then got in line at guest services at our hotel only to find out the computers were down. My DD was at MK and their computers worked just fine, so she got them there.

Re: Has anyone flown on SW with the new boarding system?

Oh, I agree, hopefully not too many people know, but I think alot do. As my friend checked me in right at the 24 hour mark - according to verizon cell phone time, and we were still in the 30's for boarding.

but that's better than a B or C !

and the CM knew just how to print the tickets. You need your confirmation number and a drivers license for them to do it. - Easy.

Re: Has anyone flown on SW with the new boarding system?

You can also check yourself in with your laptop or cell phone, even if you can't print out your boarding pass. It will still register in the system and they'll print your pass out when you check your bags. At least it's always worked for me in the past.

Re: Has anyone flown on SW with the new boarding system?

Apparently SW holds a whole section of seats for business travellers for first boarding in the A section. So even if you are the first person to check in online, you will still get nothing higher than like an A 15, depending on the flight.

Better late than never responding, but this does seem correct. We were A17-A21 for our trip PHL to MCO. There was one guy in front of us. We checked in right at the 24 hour mark and not a second late.

Coming home, we were about 2 minutes after the 24 hour mark and we started with A47. meh. It didn't matter too much as long as we are all together.

I was just on SW this Thanksgiving and was happy with the seating. My family got to sit next to each other.

Re: Has anyone flown on SW with the new boarding system?

so let me get this right. it will be me, my wife and my 2 year old daughter, so we will HAVE to board between A and B? that would mean that i wouldn't have to worry about printing our boarding passes real early.
