I prefer the disney dollars for actual spending money for kids. They can see what they have left money wise and get cash back for the DD where as with the gift cards, they could lose track of what is on the card and have to ask etc. To me it's annoying. I use the DD for myself as well. I like to "see" what I have for spending money. There are also problems with the cards not activating or getting deactivated. I had this happen with a $100 gift card and it took me days to resolve the issue with the 800 number.

I agree. My kids really like to be able to see and count their money. That may change as they get older, though. I only buy the 1's so that they can earn them individually. They like to count them as they begin to accumulate and the trip gets closer. They feel so rich rich with that stack of dollars when they finally get to go shopping at WDW!

I would prefer the Disney Dollars because we always go to Disney World before Universal and if I don't use all of my Disney Dollars I can change it back it into money
