Cost of Travel?
I am thinking of leaving Dec 19 and returning the 24th. I know the resorts and food will be a bit higher, however how much more do you think airline travel will go up in price? We would be leaving from Pittsburgh?

Re: Cost of Travel?
I think it will be fairly high. On the 19th you will be fighting with all of the business people trying to get home before the holidays and people starting their vacations early, although I don't think waiting until the weekend would be much better as vacations will be starting.
If you could postpone your return until the 25th that probably would save some money. For obvious reasons it is a light travel day. |

Re: Cost of Travel?
Airfare is hard to predict. If you know your trip is a sure thing look at airfare every day, it can change daily. Look at your trip budget and watch for a flight that fits your dates, times, and budget and book it as soon as you find it. Yes, some flights may get cheaper the closer you get but not always. You are looking at going at the busiest time of the year to fly, your flight may sell out before the price drops.
If you book with Southwest you can rebook at the lower fare if one comes out.

Re: Cost of Travel?
The biggest swing factor is going to be fuel surcharges and the cost of jet fuel and nobody is going to try and predict that.
