Like you said at the end of the night a sleeping 40lb baby feels like 100lbs . . . and you can transfer them from the rental to your umbrella and go!
Thanks for the tip! I may just end up doing that very thing!

I am not a big fan of the WDW strollers though. DS cannot sleep in those. Way to uncomfy for him. Just my own opinion though. DS is more comfy in his own stroller.

This is the main reason I want to go with our own stroller too. My DS won't fall asleep sitting up. I'm hoping I can get my hands on a Triumph before we leave. I didn't get a chance to stop at the store last night...so hopefully tonight I will.

Re: Stroller Suggestion for 46lb 4 yr old?

We were just at WDW over Spring Break...we paid $20 a day for a double stroller. Actually, we got a length of stay stroller rental and it was a dollar or so less per day.

When did it go to $31 ? That is ridiculous.

Btw, I have a 6 yr old and we still get the rental. It beats having to carry a 50 pound sleeping child around or hearing him whine after 8 hours of walking that he is tired. I also like to have a place to leave my backpack.

Oh my goodness, so did I. I avoided the thread because of that!

But I would also check second hand shops, you never know what you might find there.

Re: Stroller Suggestion for 46lb 4 yr old?

If your thinking of going the cheapy stroller route try it with your son first, just even around the store. I tried to do this last year, but Noah was just too big for the cheap ones. His feet dragged on the ground, his weight made it hard to push and I also had to lean over a bit to push them. Hard on the back. Also many cheap umbrella strollers have a 25-30 lbs weight limit. That's why I recommend the McClaren, it pushes like a large stroller, and the handles are up higher, even DH doesn't have to lean over to push it. But it folds up just as small as the cheaper umbrellas. Trust me even with an older child you will use it for more than Disney. We use ours all the time.
Good luck!

Here's how I solve this . . . I bring a beach towel with me . . . I just roll it tight and put it in the bottom of my bag . . . when DD4 is ready to nap . . . I make a nice cushy little bed in the bottom of the stroller with it, and she curls right up and lights out!

Of course I'm lucky, she'll sleep anywhere if tired enough . . . I always get the "OH, look how comfy she looks" comment!

Kids . . . gotta em!

YEP CRAZY . . . but here it is:

The Walt Disney World® Resort has announced an increase in the rental price of strollers at the Theme Parks effective 4/6/08. The rental price for single strollers is now $15 per day (previously $10 per day). Double strollers are now $31 per day (up from $18). Multi-day rental discounts are still available for a slight reduction in cost per day (single strollers $13/day and double $27/day). As always, you are still allowed to bring in your own stroller during your visit. There are also umbrella-type strollers available for purchase at various locations for around $40 plus tax.
