Secrets for those leaving soon

Everyone take a minute and list your best secrets for those leaving soon...you know, the things that not everyone sees as they are rushing to the next attraction or the show that's never full...

Here are mine:
  • Epcot - Future World, don't miss the "Jammitors" - they are a group of street performers who make percussion music on their trash cans and whatever else they can find. They dress like janitors and "jam" - cute, huh?
  • Epcot - World Showcase - don't miss the candy sculptor in the courtyard in Japan. She's not there everyday. She uses candy like clay and shapes it into wonderful lollipops for the kids - free of charge.
  • Haunted Mansion "Inside Story" at Magic Kingdom - you go through different rooms while on the ride - living room, dining room, etc. You end up in the attic and then fall out the window of the house. When you see the bride and your car turns around, look over to the right and you'll be able to see the window - the outside of the house - and that's how you end up in the cemetary. I had never noticed that before.
  • When you go to the Magic Kingdom - go to the candy store on the right hand side (as you're looking at the castle) on the corner - not the one closest to the Town Square, but a block closer to the castle. Pick up the old phone on the wall inside - you can hear an old fashion party line conversation going on between a mother and her daughter. Don't be surprised if the mother yells at you to hang up the phone and to stop being a nosy biddy body!!!
  • At MGM - go see Gene Kelly's Singin' in the Rain umbrella - It's located right across the street from where the Hunchback show used to be - if you don't know where that is, just ask a CM and they'll tell you. People will walk up to the umbrella and step underneath it for a picture. What they may not know, is that when you step on the plate in the ground, under the umbrella,
it starts to rain all around the umbrella! Without realizing that the rain will stop as soon as they step off the pressure plate, many people will try to run - and end up wet when they really didn't have to!
  • If you happen to be at the Animal Kingdom Lodge when it's dark, look for the CM with the night vision goggles. It's wonderful watching the animals in the dark.
  • Every cashier at the counter service restaurants at WDW actually has two lines that they service - one on either side of them. So if there is only one line on the right, go to the left. They alternate between right and left lines when taking orders.
  • Every restaurant in WDW will give you the recipe to any dish you ask about. They will either give it to you on the spot, email you with it, or send them to you in the mail.

I have more...I just wanted to let someone else post some :)
  • EPCOT - Rehitching ceremony - When making your PS for Garden Grille in the Land, mention that to the CM that you would like to get rehitched. Your server acts as the clergy person. They read some fun vows for you to repeat. You have to kiss in front of the whole restaurant, often to the count of 100. You'll receive a special certificate to commemorate the event and a cake. Mickey, Chip and Dale have been known to attend the festivities.
  • Magic Kingdom - When the lights come back on in the stretching room of the HM, look up and you will see a "body" swinging from the rafters above an opaque ceiling. I think it looks like Brer Rabbit. Hubby thinks not.
  • Magic Kingdon - HM - If you will stand under the ballerina picture when entering the stretching room, the doom buggies will be right next to you when the doors open.

The Night Vision at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is advertised to guests. It occurs nightly at 10:00.

Are you sure the phone conversation was fake. :laugh :laugh :laugh

at Epcot there are at least 2 water fountians that speak .. one is near the fountian on the Future World Side of the bridge .. the other is back across from the Land Pavillion. When you push the button for water you can hear a voice from the drains

I love to read these tips.

My favorite are:

Looking for the wedding ring embedded in the sidewalk as you leave HM.

Looking for the paw prints in the concrete outside of Tony's Town Square Restaraunt

In MGM, look for the key under the mat at Muppets 3D.

Tug on the rope outside of Indiana Jones Stunt Show, the one that says do not pull.

Here's some more:
  • MK - MGM - The back half of the plane on the Jungle Cruise can be found in the Great Movie Ride.
  • MK - On the People mover in Tomorrowland, you will pass a model of for a futuristic city...this was the original model for EPCOT.

  • EPCOT - Talking water fountains can be found in

Future World near the main fountain. It is just outside the Centorium shop on the east side of the big fountain.

To the right of the play fountain between Future World and World Showcase.

To the left of the restrooms between Imaginations and Innoventions West.
  • EPCOT - The first person to ride Maelstrom recieves a free viking hat that says "Viking of the Day". We have never been there early enough to see this, but one of the CMs told me about it.

Just tell me if you want more...I just figured others would want to share and I didn't want to be a thread hog...;pinch: (I know I am setting myself up here...)

Great! I love this stuff.

I'm getting ready for a trip early fall with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew. I might work some of this up to a treasure hunt game for us.

Oh - I'm really enjoying this thread. Please keep them coming!

I said in another thread that I've been reading and taking notes on so much stuff that I've found at DC that I feel like, with only a few days to go, that I'm cramming for finals! I just hope to pass the test. LOL

Okay...here are some more...
  • MK - On Splash Mountain, as you approach the big drop, look toward the ceiling above you and you will catch a glimpse of the FSU critter... He pops out of the ceiling and says "FSU" for Florida State University. The guy that created the ride was a graduate and this was his choice of signature for the ride. We got stuck for 45 minutes in 1999...believe me...I know exactly what every creature in that last scene is saying..!
  • MGM - On TOT, Sally Shine, the little girl, is holding an authentic 1935 Mickey Mouse stuffed animal.
  • EPCOT - On TT, in the heat test, if you will look at the electric heat compressor, you will find fried eggs; while in the cold test, there are popsicles in an ice cube tray; in corrosive area, the robots serial numbers spell out CRUS-T and RUS-T. The driver of the semi truck during the evasive maneuver is actually a cardboard cut-out of President Nixon.

More later...I get tired of typing...
