Spirit Air now charging for Seat Assignments
I logged into SpiritAir this morning to get our seat assignments for our return flight, since I wasn't able to did it last week when I choose our outgoing seats and guess what??? now they're charging for seat assignments
 I guess there's really no such thing as a cheap flight anymore once you add in the luggage and seat charges. It's just crazy.

They are really getting out of hand now. They are constantly thinking of any way to get the extra out of people. I'm sure all of the airlines will jump on this too.

WHAT???? I already picked my seats for the flight down...I have to do the return trip however...sheesh....heading over to the site now...GRRR

ok so my seats...cleared. Now they want $30 for me to pick a seat....I can just let them pick it for me on the day of the flight, but I don't want to take the chance of them splitting up me and my DD..it's like you are held captive. Don't they have to seat minors with their parents???
I thought got this great deal on this airfare...$392 for both me and DD...then add in the $40 for luggage and the $30 for seats and the deal just isn't so good any more...this is bogus.

That is outrageous!
I'm sorry, but airfare is not "affordable" by any means these days, and now all these airlines are changing their baggage policies so you can only have one checked bag per ticketed passenger...additional bags $50?!? And now CHARGING for seat assignments?!?!? UNREAL.

I was shocked to see AirTran was doing this as well. New fees are popping up every where on all the airlines.

They are just doing this so they can continue to run these "fare sales" (if you want to call them that) and make up the difference elsewhere...just lump the crap all in to one price for God's sake instead of surprising you with hidden extra fees later. Last year when I booked they started charging for bags...this year I am paying to pick the seat I paid good money for long in advance...really annoys me. I wish I had the patience to sit in the car...I'd drive.
