Need some honest input quickly please!

Hello All,
We (me,DW,DD11,DS9,) went to WDW in April and once again had a great time.We have the itch again! We are considering going back June 28th to July 4th. We have the AP's, we are DVC members so the only upfront cost will be food and airfare, SW has a pretty good rate for these dates. My real concern is the heat and to a lesser degree, the crowds. I will need to book this in a few hours so any feedback both pro: and con would be helpfull! I don't think we will be able to go before AP's expire in November. Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Need some honest input quickly please!

If you can swing the airfare and food, I say GOOOOO! Why not put those APs to use one more time before they expire?

On the down side, as you mentioned, crowds and heat. We have only been in April and December, so I can't really help you with that part. But, if you have just gone, maybe you can truly spend midday at the resort, napping, cooling off, and at the pool, without feeling like you have to "do it all" in the parks.

My vote is to go! Why wouldn't you want to go to WDW????

We just got back, and I can say that the 2nd 1/2 of our stay was hot. We have been down there during the summer months and it only gets hotter. You can expect a chance of Thunderstorms daily. Usually late afternoon. The crowds are typically very large. If you do it right, you can still manage to have a great time though. Take advantage of Early entries, being there for rope drop, EMH evenings, and fast passes.

Hi Daisee,
It was your fantastic trip report that got me planning yesterday! I just called DVC and the studio they had yesterday is missing 2 days and no other studios are available anywhere! The only option now is a 1 bedroom and that will be 189 points!! I didn't want to use that many during the hot days of summer. Now I am really confused but I don't see me using that many points for a last minute trip...

We were on a waiting list, and got lucky.. we started out with 8 days booked, then within a week or 2, the other 2 days became available.. keep trying!

Re: Need some honest input quickly please!

I will have to ask Rlander, but I think we used 150 points for all 10 days. We were in a studio though. There were 4 of us, and we had plenty of room. Only there to sleep really.

I say GO! You are a DVC member and AP holder, then you must be a Disney "NUT". Even if you spend most of your time sitting at your resort and relaxing, you're still on VACATION! Just being there is what most of us Disney "NUTS" want.

Re: Need some honest input quickly please!

I used to work the Disney reservation line and what we would tell our guest if what they were looking for was not open is to keep trying! The days usually open up either by a cancellation or Disney will open more rooms depending on the reservations. I would keep trying and call the reservation line as many times as needed to check! Hope that helps...

If you can swing it, go. Plan accordingly. Go to the parks early, then spend the afternoons at the resort and go back to the parks in the evening when it starts to cool off (relative term here). That would allow you to maximize your AP and park time. The parks will be busy.

Hi Timsha,
If I can get the studio, I am going. The heat has me worried though.
You know how us Rhode Islander's are.(Dole Whip's are good but it's not Del's)

Re: Need some honest input quickly please!

We went last year from June 24th - July 5th. We had 3 kids and DW was 6 months pregnant with #4. We were in the parks 7 days from rope drop until they threw us out at night. The other days we did the water parks and other activities. We had a blast, but it was HOT and Crowded. If you plan your park days correctly and plan to be hot, you can have a great time.
