Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

I love, love, love JetBlue and would fly them everywhere if I could. Unfortunately on my last thre trips, Delta and Airtran have been cheaper than JetBlue so I haven't been able to fly on them in a while. I love their Terra Blue chips and I love having the Tvs at every seat. As a nervous flier, I appreciate having the tvs to distract me.

Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

We just blew JetBlue for the first time and loved it! The seats seem larger and the TV's make the flight that much more enjoyable.

I would fly JetBlue over Southwest any day of the week. I like picking my seats in advance.
TV's are a plus

Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

Iam a big fan of Jet Blue too, but unfortunately Southwest won out on my Oct/Nov. trip with Lower fares and no extra fees!!!

Iam so sad we won't be flying Jet Blue on our next trip to MCO, I will miss those big leather seats and tv screens, and delicious snack "options" and all.
Hopefully come next time I have to fly, the fares will have come down and they will get rid of all those ridiculous fees!!!

May I ask how much Southwest was? For our last on Jetblue we paid $397 total rt for two. Last year it was much less. But I think that it was still a fair price.

I paid $557 for 2 tickets on SW. And no extra Fees.

Jet blue wanted like $1500 or so for 2 tickets PLUS those fees!!!
I think Continental had some cheaper flights but still not worth it to me to pay all that $$ plus fees on a ticket!

$397 for 2 is good and usually the norm. I paid anywhere from 150 - 200 a ticket in the past so these high prices really threw me!!!!
I couldnt find anything low for that 1st week of Nov. going to Orlando.

Only low prices I saw were if I were to travel on a Tue/Wed and that doesnt work for us.

Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

Do you book on the Jetblue site? I don't recall fees that high. The $397 was the total with tax/fees. Do you fly out of Newark?

Yes and Yes!!!

I checked daily and finally booked last month! Fares just kept getting higher.

This is a busy time as there are alot of people from NJ going to Orlando ..... "Jersey Week".... at WDW.

Ny airports were slightly lower but not enough to travel to Nyc for the difference and still higher than SW.

Also I travel weekends... I checked leaving on Fri and Thurs, coming home on a Sat..... prices were very High!!

All the major airlines were... Continenal was a little cheaper though...
but not cheap enough!!! Maybe $400 a ticket????

Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

I just checked what the current fares are and the fares dropped, departing EWR on 10/30 and 10/31 to 104.00 OW....
Coming home the prices are still high, ranging from $254.00 to $339.00 a flight. If you come home early in the AM (which I NEVER book), it's $184.00 OW (these are all one way prices).

Even with those lower prices, the total is $758.00 for 2 tickets.... PLUS Fees....

Iam paying $200 less and NO fees!!!

I just have to deal with the commute to philly and parking fees.

Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

Oh I see...we go low season. The flights in Sept. had no more than 50 people on the plane.
I would like gas to go down...so we can have $59-$69 airfare again.

that would be so nice!!

I hope to have things to go back the way they were at least. Same airfares and NO ADDT'L FEES!!!

If I traveled mid week days (which will NEVER happen), then I could probably get some decent rates, but with DD's school and my work (and that's less play/vacation time too) it doesnt work out for us.

The planes are usually FULL when I travel.

Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

This thread was really helpful for me because we are planning on going from hartford, ct to MCO on southwest, but it's about $100 more with stops than Jet Blue from White Plains. Even though White Plains airport is an about an hour from my house, and hartford is only 20 minutes, my dear mother said she would drive us and pick us up for our trip in May. We were able to get round trip, direct flights-I hate stopovers, leaving early in the AM and coming home on the 7:30pm flight (thus giving us extra WDW time) for only $358 for 2, including everything.
I've never flown Jet Blue, but it sounds like the old Delta Song (sigh..) I miss that airline soo much-regular delta stinks, and southwest just couldn't beat the price (unless a ding comes out, in which case I'll be kicking myself), and now I've got my tix for May-woohoo!!
thanks again for all the info on this thread

Re: Opinions on JetBlue Airlines

we fly with jetblue all the time!! the airfare is always great and so are the flights. the seats are comfortable. the entertainment is great as well. 36 channels of direct tv along with 3 channels to buy movies. certain plains have the XM radio station. though food is not served on the flights, they do have a wide variety of snacks to choose from. the customer service is always wonderful. if i didn't know any better, i would say that jetblue is sort of like flying with Disney. nothing ever goes wrong. jetblue would be like disney airs, if they had their own airline. which, i'm surprised they don't at the moment.
