Re: Would you go???

Now after also mulling this over my first instinct (prior to mulling) was you must go.....BUT, after re-reading your post I am thinking although this is a great offer, would it detract from next year's March plans, and also, would you be so careful budgeting on this Oct/Nov trip, as not to infringe on the moving funds etc that you may not have as good a time?
And then there is the school issue too- hmmm now my nays outweight the yays- but whatever you decide will have had great consideration and deliberation so will be the right choice for you I'm sure.

Re: Would you go???

I was all set to say go, until I read the march trip is not set in stone. See my thinking was even though you had a free room, the tickets also cost a bundle, but what if you AP's for both trips. I haven't done any math, just thinking off the top of my head. Buuuut if you don't know for sure about march, well then this idea doesn't work.

Of course there is that of matter of selling your house. You are asuming, it will sell and then you will save X amount of money every month. What if it doesn't sell, will you be drowning if you spend (I don't know your family size) 3,000 for an extra disney trip?

Re: Would you go???

I think that if you are having hesitations about taking the kids out of school to go then you should probably wait and go at a later time when you know it's the right time. Save the money you'd spend on food and park tickets for a later date.

(I can't believe I'm saying to wait!! I'm usually the first to say to go!! LOL)

Re: Would you go???

That's a tough decision, But if the room is free you can go easy on the dining and maybe pick a park or two you like the most and save the others for the next trip.
We don't get to go as much as we would like so any chance to go would be taken

Re: Would you go???

OK, I reread your post. Are you saying the kids would miss an entire WEEK of school? If so, then I would have to vote no, don't go. I was thinking it was only for a day or two at the most.

Plus, right now, the housing market is in a slump. I hope you can sell quickly, but this may not be the case.

Sadly, Disney may have to wait unless you go without the kids. But, could you?

Re: Would you go???

Oh Hanwill- after reading through these posts I bet you're more confused what to do than before- there seems a real split thinking between us MB'ers and everyone seems to put up a good argument!!
I am glad its your ultimate decision and not mine! dying to hear what you decide though!

Re: Would you go???

WOW this is a tight vote. My vote went to "stay home and save money for March trip" but will the hotel be paid for in March...? I hadn't thought about that.

Re: Would you go???

I voted to go now. disney is a great time in Nov. If you are worried about the kides being in school, I think you should try an adults only trip.

Re: Would you go???

Tough call! I voted to postpone for another time that doesn't disrupt kids. Even with the room being paid for you will likely spend more than you bargained for.

Good luck, this is a tough call!

Re: Would you go???

Wow- everyone has a good thought about this... I am still thinking, though and have not made a decision. I really hate to take the kids out of school. especially since we have been a million times before... However, my hubby has a very stressful job, and it is fun to spend as much time with him as possible...
The kids would only miss a few days-but I started looking at the calendar. friday before this is Halloween, and then we could have the weekend before... So it could be a good trip...
Should I ask the teacher???

Do I really want her to tell me no???

Keep the opinions coming. I appreciate and am weighing all of the expert thoughts on here- Thanks!!!

Re: Would you go???

Actually, most teachers would agree that part of a good healthy child is spending time with loving parents. A vacation is just what you and the kids need now.
