Need help with clothing!!!!

Hi all! With the change of the seasons now here, I am trying to pack up our clothing, but our trip is this November/December.

I have been searching the threads trying to see how people are dressed during that time of the year. I read Wishy's trip report from last year at Thanksgiving and they wore shorts. Would I be ok with Jeans and T-shirts?

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

I'll be right behind ya. The weather here is getting cooler too; I just packed away all our summer clothing. If I have to I'll dig the summer clothes out and wash them before our trip, right now I need the space for sweatshirts and sweaters.

I think the weather can go either way in Florida that time of year, you just never know. I would suggest just doing to do a 10 day weather check closer to the time of your trip to find out what the forecasted weather is. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's nice and sunny and we have a few days to enjoy the pool.

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

Layers are your best bet for December in FL!

Capris and a t-shirt for day, then throw on a sweatshirt, long sleeved t or light jacket for nighttime! Jeans work too!

Of course us FL residents get cooler before you! My parents think the weather is delightful in December (they are from NJ) and me and the girls want to put the heat on!

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

we are going Dec. 12-19. we live in the panhandle, but trust me...it's warmer in Orlando...so..

DH will probably wear shorts more than me.
DD will wear dresses with tights or leggings if needed, or jeans some days.
I will be wearing jeans, pants or long shorts.

but all of us will be wearing short sleeves, or tanks with a long sleeved layer on top for the early morning and nights.

so, put simply, jeans and short sleeves...should work out fine! :o)

hope this helps.

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

Leave a pair of shorts out just in case. Wish rarely wears jeans so using her TR as a reference is basically null and void It won't be freezing by any means but it will get colder at night. We went in December and were were fine in jeans and long sleeve layers.

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

Everytime we go in mid November, we are lucky enough to have daytime temps between 75 and 80. It does get quite cool at night. Never any rain. Perfect weather for Michiganders who arrive at ORD in winter coats and boots

We're always in shorts. No long pants other than for dinner, because it's the right thing to do

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

We went 12/14- 12/19 last year and although it was nice when we arrived and we were wearing shorts and stuff, the nites got cool and 2 or 3 days into the trip the temp's dropped into the 30's!!!!!!
We wore layers upon layers and needed gloves it was that cold!!! : Also by the time we left Florida, it was started to warm up.

It all depends upon when you go I guess and what the weather has in store for you.
So be prepared for anything and pack warm clothes, gloves, hats if needed.

I suspect if you are going Early Dec, it will be very nice.

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

I would bring layered owfits. I traveled in January to WDW twice and used layers. T-shirt, hoodie and some cotton pants (think jogging owfits). I ended up wrapping the hoddie around my waist by mid day.

We are going Thanksgiving and taking both. I'm taking shorts, T-shirts and pants. A light jacket for the kids just in case we need it in the mornings or night.

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

We're going the end of Nov and I plan to bring long shorts, regular t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, pants for nighttime, light fleece jackets (for mornings and nights). I will also plan outfits that are able to be layered.

If the weather for a low is the 50's and high in the low 70's - then it is the exact weather that is now here in CT. So I am planning on dressing how I dress for the early fall in CT which is still shorts and long sleeve shirts. Love this weather!!!

I think that those temps sound perfect for touring WDW. We usually go in the hot months and this will be such a difference, I can't wait!

Couldn't have said it better. We've been twice Thanksgiving week, and that's how we did. We also brought coats last trip, because the forecast for our MVMCP night was unusually cold. It got down to mid-40's, and the coats got used, and hot chocolate was welcomed. Rest of the time, lows barely dipped below 60. But even that can seem cold, especially at illuminations with the cool breeze off the water.

Re: Need help with clothing!!!!

You know how cold you get in different temperatures, so its really up to you...but I think my whole family wore some kind of long sleeves almost everyday when we went at the same time of year. Bring a jacket if you're out at night or early morning, brrr! I even brought a beanie hat and scarf, but I get cold much more easily. (Okay so the scarf was also just for fashion's sake but... )

I always layered a tshirt over a long sleeve shirt everyday I was there. For MVMCP I wore a sweatshirt; my mom wore a sweater over a TURTLENECK (she gets colder than me sometimes!)

Just use your best judgement given the average temps and whatnot, but no need to go overboard.
