family shirts?!?

How many have bought matching shirts for your trip to WDW?

Has anyone had custom shirts made? if so How/who did you use? What was your experience?

We have planned a family trip for Sept and I thought it would be fun to surprise everyone with a shirt.

Thanks for your help!

We live near the beach and had airbrushed tee shirts made for everyone one time, but it cost an arm and a leg!

I did them myself last summer. Just make sure the resolution is high enough to print out well. (regular clip art on the internet won't cut it) We used an 8/5x11 design on Jet Print tee shirt transfers (remember to flip your design) and printed on Hane's Beefy Tees after we washed them. They came out really well, but after a year of use, the transfers are starting to peel. I use fabric softener, and wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Hmmm...I do have the Disney script font...

Is the transfer paper, ink or both?

Many years ago, our group (three families) all had Mickey Mouse Club T-shirts with with our first names printed on the back. We hapened to find the T's at an outlet mall near our home. They had the "new" Mickey Mouse Club logo on the front in bright red and black. I took them to our local sporting goods store that does custom printing and they had transfer blcok letters (I think they were 3" letters). It didn't cost much and we all got lots of looks at WDW.
Have fun!
:)

We wore matching shirts on our 1st travel day. Since there were just four of us, we bought our shirts at the Disney store. They were on clearance and we got them for $5 each.

I like the idea of putting names of on them. Maybe we will do this next year.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

I had just started to read them and my sister called. She wanted to know what size I wore...she had been in the Disney store over lunch and picked up shirts for everyone!

We are still going to make shirts ...thanks again everyone.

that is fantastic, Tigger!

My son made a "I Survived It's a Small World" t-shirt - he got soooo many comments on it, it was a riot.

What are you going to put on the ones you make?

That is really funny, Willbegone!

I was going to suggest getting the Disney logo shirts at the DisneyStore, tigger. They are not custom, but they will all match. And they are less than $5 each now. I got my children the red and the yellow for our trip. I like to dress them alike or in the same color when we are away from home...easy to spot!!;)

Well now the cat is out of the bag I've opened it up to everyone that is going...my 6 year nephew told me "He's on it!". I'm sure that he'll come up with something clever.

(I really like that survived It's a Small World. That is great!)

OK, well since my husband and my brother will not be caught dead wearing the same shirts as the rest of us, I do think my hubby would wear the same shirt as my 21 month old. THAT will be cute. (my brother on the other hand...that's a different story. If it is not an expensive name brand, he won't put it over his head!!!)

I think I need to make a visit to the Disney store, if the T-shirts are under $5 each right now!!! :dazed Are they really that cheap, and is the sale still going on??? What kind of selection do they have? :nervous
