If you are driving to WDW

Today I fiinished up one of the most important things on my trip planning list. Got our Van all ready. Took it in to the Dealer ship yesterday and had it gone over from front to back .. had them check the belts and hoses, brakes .. all the fun stuff that can leave you stranded on the side of the road. Then today I took it to Wal Mart for 2 new tires. Many of you may not need this advice but just in case anyone hasnt put that down on thier "must do" list before they drive to WDW, I thought I would post this. For one thing anything that might go wrong, is going to cost you a lot more if it happens between home and WDW.
ohhh and the other important thing I got done was a converter for the PS2 game so the girls can play Kingdom Hearts *grin* during the trip.

Tinkerbell, great advice!!! We do the same thing. Pep Boys has a vacation special, that does the same thing. They check your car (or van in our case!) completely over.

Last thing anyone would want is to be stranded on a dark highway bridge in Louisana at midnight...... :nervous :nooo:

Great advice!

My DH is a mechanic so our car is always ready for the trip to WDW. He just put on new brakes all the way around, next job is tires.

Some other good things to remember:
$$$ for tolls (or in our case - charge up the sunpass)
check for road construction at www.myflorida.com - nice to know if construction will turn a 3 hour trip into a 3 hour nightmare.

Thanks so much sandanv1, that is an excellent idea .. I think most states have that info somewhere ..you might have to do some searching .. but that is great info to have in advance so you can maybe take an alternate route!!!!
